Hmmmm... I'm missing something here. I tried downloading, but I get a web page openning instead with this error:
Quote: XML Parsing Error: mismatched tag. Expected: </img>. Location: http://myeve.eve-online.com/character/xml.asp?characterID=%22B2%22&sid=368410174 Line Number 33, Column 86:
Any ideas what I'm doing wrong? It's probably something simple. I did notice the ID # isn't the right one.

Thermic Shield Compensation turned green for me on the skills sheet when it shouldn't have, as I can't train it yet, but the other three show as unlearnable.
Just making a bug report, hahaha.
I must say that the addition of the XML import button on here is the best addon to this tool in quite a few versions. Makes all of that mucking about in VB code and such unnecessary. Great job!

Just downloaded and look at your latest update. It looks great. I noticed a few things on the sheets I sent you that need changing so I will work on that and let you know what they are.
Good job on the XML import functions and the portal.

Edited by: Aberthain on 25/03/2006 15:37:09 I'm behind some wacky proxies and can't seem to access the sheet...is there anyway I can just dl the xml sheet and point the data sheet to that to acquire the character info?
Edit: That's unusual... as soon as I posted this it acquired... man, that's messed up.

Originally by: Raaz Satik The order of the drone skills is different on the Skills and Skill Description pages. On one sheet its Fighters followed by Gallente Specialization, on the other its reversed.

There are two different versions up because some people had problems with the code. One version doesn't have any of my new code so I had to remove the button, and the other has the new Import XML function I created. One of my corpmates downloaded the wrong one too. Also make sure you have macro settings set for Medium or Low. If you left it at High you wouldn't be able to use a lot of the features.
Since AnnaJoy seems to have left us I should start a new post and see if we can get that one stickied. Or sticky this one. Or something. Jublie JellyBean! Keeper of EVE Master Datasheet. |

- Added Time To Skill column on the Skills Description sheet.
- Added Time to Ship column on the Ships sheet.
- Various code fixes.
Excel: EMDv1402.zip OpenOffice: EMDv1402.zip
Or go to www.troiess.com

Great sheet!
But when importing the XML on the skills sheet it comes up with "1004 Method 'Range' of object'_Global' failed"
All the skills up to standard missile gets populated then it stops!
I think the problem is that you have named a skill "light missile specialization" instead of "standard missile specialization"

In your bonus sheet. The Vlookup function is 1 column off. For example, the Speed column is acually column 6. The function is looking at column 5.
They are all like that, so I went into my sheet, thanks for keeping it unprotected, and changed the columns. Verified it against the ships sheet and my own bonuses.
Good to go now, and I love the Import Function!!!! Thank you so much!

i am a bit new, i got the OO application coz excel said something about invalid macros or something, and didnt know how to fix it so i downloaded that one. basically my question is , do i have to update all the numbers myself, like each and every skill i have or there is some automatical process that does it for me like target a file or log on to eve and its updating what i have on me automatically.
thanks for your time reading the post and hope you can shed some information.

Binty: Thanks for catching that! I fixed it in this update.
MaltorÆVak: I caught that too when I was working on the Bonus sheet. IÆm still adding ship/skill data to it, I hope to finish it soon.
Vrajitoru: Do you have a specific error message? ôexcel said something about invalid macrosö. And we don't have a macro in OpenOffice for importing the XML, only in Excel. If anyone wishes to donate the code, I'm sure everyone would appreciate it.
I'm done with 14.03.
- Changed ship requirements for Caldari Badger Mk II.
- Changed skill requirements for Recon Ships: Covert Ops from level 5 to 4, Spaceship Command from 5 to 3.
- Changed 'Can Use' requirements for skill that are only available at character creation.
- Renamed Light Missile Specialization to Standard Missile Specialization.
- Fixed the VLookUp on the Bonus sheet. Bonus sheet is still a work in progress.

Oh and for people that have problems importing, make sure your logged in on the eve website on IE because it seems to me that excel imports it data thur IE and not firefox or possibly other browsers.
Thanks for a great resource!

Edited by: Jublie on 02/04/2006 19:07:20 Sorry about that Camilla, I fixed it. You can redownload 14.03.
And Vrajitoru, you will have to enter your own skill points for OpenOffice.

I blame Binty for this one! When I renamed Light Missile Spec. to Standard Missile Spec. the cell name definitions didn't sort.
Fixed. And I don't mind the extra work, I do this all day at work when I should be working.

Bug Report under Microsoft Excel 2003 SP 1
- Clicking the Import XML button drops into the debugger with a dialog box saying "Compile Error: Cannot find project or library"
- Using Ctrl-G doesn't work from any tab except the EVE-XML Data tab. "Error Number: 9 Subscript out of range"
- The character name is always the first character name in the XML file, not the one associated with the character number I have entered

Masakaa and Hopka, can you both check and see if you have msxml3.dll and comdlg32.dll? I think you may be missing one of those files.
IÆve been looking in to the ctrl-g on the EVE-XML Data sheet, I think when you run that query, eve-online.com is trying to pull up a session ID from your web browser then it gets redirected to your xml webpage which kills the whole query. WeÆll have to find a way around that....

I have checked.
I have both of the above files, msxml3.dll sits under \WINNT\system32
comdlg32.dll has 2 different locations, COMDLG32.dll is under \WINNT\system32 and normal comdlg32.dll is under \WINNT\system32\dllcache
Any more help i can be just ask.. ________________________________________________
