How do I patch both of my client installations? - The upgrade patch just uogrades the most recent and does not give the option to choose which directory to upgrade and the full install won't install unless I un-install Eve first!
Maybe I just gotta find my profile and copy it then copy the whole patched directory over the unpatched and then restore my profile?

Why do you have two clients? Is it to run two accounts at the same time on the same computer? Try doing what everyone else does. Run both accounts from the same client directory. It works just fine (I've been doing it for over a year) since the profiles are store in files with unique ids.

Edited by: d''hofren on 16/12/2005 09:53:10 I downloaded the patch from here That lets you choose the upgrade directory.
BTW nice job on the distribution ccp. I set the download going this morning using a download manager. I expected it take a few hours. The thing was fully downloaded by the time I finished shaving!

I think most people use separate clients as it seems alot more stable than simply using one client.
Also, if you've got the two clients on separate disks, they will respond faster whenever they have to read from disk at the same time.

Edited by: Xebec on 16/12/2005 11:32:39 Yes I run two accounts and I had problems running them from the same installation so I installed another copy into another directory. This has run without any problems for ages. I backed up my prefs.ini file, copied the patched directory over the unpatched and restored the prefs.ini - all worked ok - playing happily until DT !

Edited by: J Constantine on 16/12/2005 11:42:05 Edited by: J Constantine on 16/12/2005 11:41:42 I managed to get the prompt to come up so you could choose where to deploy the patch by going to start/run and executing cmd (xp and 2k) or command (98 and below) browsing to where the patch is and executing "patch Name.exe /?" no quotes. Hope it helps
Edit: I keep two folders cause i like to know who is on my to kill list so pictures are different for me 2 accounts
EditEdit: Darn typos

Edited by: Red5x5 on 16/12/2005 11:38:46 I just patched one and then moved a new copy over to the other HD's and moved my settings folder and prefs.ini over and deleted the old clients.
