When I mine in a system I usually go from one belt to another mining of all the good quality ore and then move to next belt. I hate making instas (but love to use them) and I usually mess up my instas so they are few km wrong lol. Anyway, since I am going from several belts into station that means I need one insta from each direction (uhh sucks).
I often go into a system to see if it has a good supply of ore and if it has I will mine that system, if not move to next system. So I would not want to spend time doign isntas from every belt.
Do you always make instas from belt to station ?
I have one idea which might be easier and better. Hpow about makign a safe spot and make a insta from the SS to the station. Then I can use the same instas all the time. But of course need to make two warps but that doesn't matter that much since I am using another char for haulign anyway.
Is that a good idea?
I probably do something wrong when making instas btw. I think I do it by the book, move past point 15-17 km or somethign and make a BM. But many times I end up in the wrong place anyway. I had to redo one insta like 5 times before getting it right. is there a "Instas for dummies guide"

I always make insta dock for station whenever I am mining in a system. Making Insta Dock for station is easy since stations are huge, you can warp in from any location. I always BM at the centre of a station by approaching the station and manually manuever my ship to the the centre of station. The I BM that spot.

Wouldn't that bring you 15 km from that spot or is the station really 15 km large?

It easily 15km in diameter. Not the actual graphic, but the distance drops to 0m quite a while before you reach the station.

you can make a station bm by just undockin and bm the spot you are after undock and it works from just about anywhere in system.

yeah, instas for stations are easy..... they are so big... that you can just fly to the middle (or close to it) and make a BM there.... then when you warp in you will almost always be within 15 km of the docking radius.
