EVE's memory usage now seems to creap up from approx. 130mb to over 250mb and more if you're signed on for a long period... My EVE process increases its mem usage by an average of 1,150k per minute now. Can anyone else confirm this?

My thread with the excact same problem is somewhere around here Anyway I might as well answer to this one: Yes, I got the memory thing too. It went up to 600-700 MB of RAM used ffs. There's definatelly a problem there, if more ppl have it. I'm sure we cannot judge rmr during its first few days (and prolly a patch for the patch will follow), but still, ccp should know about this.

Here's a fun twist... I have two clients running on the same machine...one EVE process is increasing it's mem usage, and one isn't. At this point, I have no idea what's happening, but it wasn't like this before.

I am running three clients for the last 5 hours and one is at 156,548K about 11-35 CPU the second is at 146,764k and is using 11-35 CPU. Here is the weird part. The third client is running at 31,896 and using 05-20 CPU. Very strange but it's not going up so I don't see a "leak"? =========================== "RED"

Heh. Since the patch I've hit amazing new highs in my usage, upwards of 900m. Needless to say it makes playing... difficult. Originally by: Tac Anderson The font is making baby jesus cry. Really. Right before his birthday too...you guys are mean.

yep it has happened to me a few times now - usually a cold boot of eve client clears it up (sometimes you ahve to kill the actual process to cause it to stop). Usually seems to start somewhere in the transition of leaving a place and entering space / going into warp. my 2c :)

It seems to be tied to the chat for me. I was on about 800mb memory use yesterday. After I closed a few "busy" chat channels it instantly dropped to about 250 (after laggin a few seconds).

A moderator replied to my thread about this (thanks ), saying that it's to be expected during the first few days (if i got it correct), but later on eve should actually use LESS mem than b4 patch . However, I still get huge mem usage after some time playing. Temp solution seems to be to just restart eve every now and then (and perhaps clearing cache everytime), but I hope that will not be permanent .

Thanks for letting us know that I too have had some success with playing for a while, and restarting. To take a trip down memory lane, I remember this same problem back when I played EnB, except with that sometimes you would close enb + end process and it still wouldn't clear it up. That was awesome Originally by: Tac Anderson The font is making baby jesus cry. Really. Right before his birthday too...you guys are mean.

Why would that be the case, unless they issue a client tweak? Because right now, both server and client code are working extremely hard at gleaming information back and forth during a time of high usage, tense emotion and a lot of people online at once. While Eve has done (19K?) PCU before, that was with a content expansion that was well established and with many of the kinks worked out; not so with RmR. Whenever something goes from small lab environment to full field usage, there is bound to be hiccups. In the near future, when the hiccups are smoothed over and the clients are patched with any tweaks that may be released, memory usage is one thing we are to see improvements on, according to various notes scattered about. Be patient, breathe a bit... and maybe now is a good time to get that extra stick of memory you've always wanted.

Given the number of crashes/cluster restarts in the last few days I guess ccp is making sure we restart the client anyways. I actually had ordered another stick of memory for my rig a couple of days before the patch... I am now even happier that I did!
