This is my first interaction with the forums, so if im posting out of place please let me know.
I was traveling through .4 space when i was killed by a player. i pulled up his info and he was Gallente. Below that, it said he was part of the Amarr empire. How and why does it say that? Also, next to that was something that says: "I whip my slaves back and forth" How did he get it to say that, and how can i put something different on my profile? |

That would be the race, then he/she is in faction warfare, followed by corp or alliance.
Always willing to help all you have to do is ask, though if your in the other fleet I may not help the way you want. Just a heads up. |

I guess you can call that my "forum signature" but I was trying to answer you question as for your or thing under character info you can put stuff in your bio, to the main questions for example if you looked up me it'd say I was caldari, explorer corps, then disavowed as it is my alliance. Just as theirs said gallante-race, Amarr-faction warfare, then I whip my slaves-alliance.
Always willing to help all you have to do is ask, though if your in the other fleet I may not help the way you want. Just a heads up. |

character race matters little in the long run. mainly determines where you spawn first thing, and slightly changes your starting skills. after that it is all about the choices players make. and if I'm not mistaken "I whip my slaves back and forth" is a corp alined with amarr factional warfare.
and at least there is a line between post and sig nowadays, used to be no divider, although I do miss my picture sigs.
and new citizens q&a is all about new players and questions, nearly everyone here is happy to help.

Yeah... once you go into systems with 0.4 or lower security status you pass beyond the jurisdiction of CONCORD (the NPC police).
In "low-sec" (0.4 to 0.1) and "null-sec" (0.0 to -1.0) you can be shot at by anyone, at any time, for any reason.

Being a certain race doesn't mean you are forever locked into certain allegiances and/or that certain other races are your eternal enemies.
When you start, you are neutral with everyone (as you are a "capsuleer" and are thus unbound to any particular bias) and gain or lose standing based upon the actions you perform (missions, killing players in certain NPC corps, etc).
They guy you met was probably a part of the Amarr militia in Faction Warfare.

You have just had an encounter with Fweddit... the Faction Warfare wing of Dreddit (which is a corp that hails from the Reddit forums).
Fweddit is part of an alliance (a collection of corps) that is named "I Whip my Slaves Back and Forth."
You can put something similar if you make a corp and then form an alliance (the latter of which costs about 1 billion ISK if I recall correctly).
Change isn't bad, but it isn't always good. Sometimes, the oldest and most simple of things can be the most elegant and effective. |

Im sorry but thats wrong. Fweddit is not aligned with Dreddit in any way and infact is fighting directly against Test.

Tribal Liberation Force is the Minmatar Militia. You can enlist in it at Minmatar stations.
