Posted this on Eve-1 also All the Whiners here crying EVE Suxors and Everything in EVE is Broken.... Well the rest arent any better after A Long Time of Being on the Market Lets Look at the Bug Free EVERQUEST as one Example
http://boards.station.sony.com/ubb/everquest/cgi-bin/forumdisplay.cgi?action=topics&forum=Technical+Help&number=3&DaysPrune=100&SUBMIT=Go Oh wow Where did all THOSE Bugs come from it should be Bug Free been on the market What? 4-5 Years....
Or How About The SWG Game you Whiners always Threaten to leave for Well looks like there are Tons of Bugs there too hmmmmmm http://forums.station.sony.com/swg/search?board.id=Development&q=bug
Maybe for a Bug Free Experience we should look at Earth and Beyond....Ooops Looks like they Have Tons Of Bugs too.... http://www.ebportal.com/forum/3
All Sarcasm aside the Point Im trying to make is That =EVE= is only a little more then 3 Months Old and Everyones Writing it off like it was the Worst Game out here when in fact alot of the 3-5 Year MMPORGS are still Riddled with bugs.
Well maybe EVE isnt such a Bad Game After All.

decent message, its too bad some people think that eve is the red headed stepchild of MMOs. there are many others that are FAR worse. "To be content,to be comfortable, is to be complacent. No one learns anything from pleasure..pain on the other hand is a most efficient instructor" |

Almost funny but not quite. Try again.
"The human species suffers from a dimensional limitation. They are not able to understand that matter and mind are just one aspect of something more fundamental. We must strive to expand our perspective so we can see what our true reality is." Deep toughts by Mr.Pops, while consuming large quantities of Blue Pill and staring at the EVE gate in Genesis.

I love Eve. I have never played a game this long and for so much.

What kills me about this post.... Its not the bugs as much as the customer service people complain about.. Justify it all you want the problem is when they do occur you get no help. No one is saying the DEVS arent working hard most are complaining the GM's suck.
Yea im still here....I have just given up on complaining about ****. JOBS - Got Moin?

Edited by: Indigo Seqi on 16/08/2003 13:43:46 Like bugs, Customer support is a problem at every other MMO too.
And the only reason EVE has so much trouble providing decent CS atm is because the systems/programs they use to monitor the game/log the gamestate are pretty useless.
If your CS is based around the rule that a customer must provide proof of him/her losing data, you better make damn sure they have some good tools available to provide you with that proof. The /report command in EQ is an example of that kind of tool.

I find that service is pretty good, whenever I'm stuck (and file a petition) I find theres not much of a wait before I can play again.

Eve is a really good game with a ton of potential. It has more content in its 3 months then most of the above games had after 6 months. Also while the stuck issue stucks and the CTD, it nowhere reachs the problems some of these above games still have.
I know with EQ there was a bug recently where everybody who signed up for an expansion was reduced from level 65 to level 50, lost all their keys and couldn't zone. This was just a month ago btw, and EQ has been out for almost 4 years. In eve terms that would be akin to having a patch and finding out that you have lost 1/2 your skills and can't go outside of empire space.

NewsFlash: Man found dead while playing EVE Online - Earlier today a man was found dead from dehydration and starvation. Apparently the last note on his table mentioned he was podded somewhere in Jove space and was unable to get back to Empire space. It appears he was playing the online game EVE and was unable to seperate himself from the game. -------------------------------------------

Just because games like that back then were of what today is considered **** poor doesnt mean they werent good. At the time they were as good as it gets and I know I lost many a month to them. But today as with everything standards have moved on. People expect more because they know it can be done. "Death Before Dishonor" |

Yes and it is being done but not at the Pace most people want it to be :)
I think That with the fact that some of the MMPORGS that have been around for over 4-5 Years and STILL have Major Bug Problems. I think like everything it takes a While to Age things to perfection so lets give it a chance to age a bit ;) In a Year if we are Still seeing no relief from Todays Bug Issues then by all means Rant and Rave and I'll be right there beside you helping!!! For all its bugs EVE is the Game us old Space Warfare players have been dreaming and hoping for and all issues aside it is Still Great Fun

The games got a few bugs sure. The only way it will become bug free is to stop adding new content. All major applications have bugs. At least they fix the bugs as they find them. Some take a bit longer than others to fix but so far I have not found a bug big enough to spoil my fun of the game.
Keep adding the content devs and keep up the good work.
As for customer services I have found them to be better and more knowledgable than other MMORPG's i have played.
If you want a bug free system, go buy a calculator.

But "Super Metroid" is Really... it¦s the most addictive Jump'n'Run I¦ve EVER played. Action, Adventure, Jump n Run... you name it, Super Metroid has it If you happen to have a Super Nintendo do yourself a favor and go get it, really a great game.

just look at windows, any edition (not a mmorpg, but hell, it's full of bugs.)
Every game has bugs of some sort. recently i think CCP has become better to actually inform us of what they are doing. which is good. as the worst action they can do is to keep their mouth shut.
Now all we want is THE tech 2 patch. HURRY! :D
