I like to send my salvaging drones out individually. So each drone is assigned to one wreck.
I started becoming paranoid that if i assigned a drone to a new wreck while it was still returning to my ship that i would not receive the salvaged goods from that wreck. If the drone does not make it back to my ship will it just store the salvage in its cargo and then dump it all into my ship when it finally returns? Or does the loot disappear if you don't let the drone finish returning to the ship?
I know most people will just like to assume that it doesn't matter, but i am very meticulous, and i want to know the real answer. |

Yes i might have to do that, it is somewhat difficult to test, but i think i can do it. |

*IF* they behave like Mining Drones, they keep the goodies "in limbo" between wrecks ... but I'm far from certain of that, it's already been a long time since I tested mine ... My skills : Kery Nysell, Jestra Nysell, Kotoko Nysell, Kotone Nysell |

I tried this once. They keep the salvage midflight and drop it all off at once if they don't get a further order. I just release the salvage drones, tell them to engage without targetting anything and then wait. pâ+(*GîÆGêçGîÆ*)n+ë pü+(pé£GêçpÇü-¦)pü+ (GùòGÇ+GùòG£+) |

This is the "best" way to work with salvage drones. When you are in a Noctis you just launch drones (without targetting anything) and command them to start salvaging. Then lock the wrecks and tractor them all to you. This way your salvage drones stay close to you and the loot cans are all in range for looting. |

^^ Exactly the way I do it, tractor them all in then go make a cup of tea whilst the drones auto salvage for me. |

The issue I have with letting the drones do their own thing is that all 5 seem to target the one wreck until one successfully salvages, then they all move on to the next wreck, rinse and repeat.
This is fine if I have stuff to do AFK and I can let them go, but if I am gunning missions for standing increase or similar, yet still want to be greedy and salvage, it takes ages. These days I just tend to target 5 wrecks and have each drone salvage an individual wreck. There are a lot more mouse clicks but it is quicker. I will have to test the OP's question - more than once I have started a full drone salvaging a new wreck before it returns it's loot to the cargo bay, and I have never checked to make sure I am not losing salvage that way. OP thanks for asking that question, I want to know the answer too . The power to cause pain is the only power that matters, the power to kill and destroy, because if you can't kill then you are always subject to those who can, and nothing and no one will ever save you.

If i'm not afk I use normal salvage modules on the Noctis and I still use the drones. I didin't find a way to make them auto-target different wrecks, even turning off auto-focus doesn't work. But the success chance of the individual drone is small, I like them to target one wreck and all give their best shot :)

Uhm yes totally correct. But how often do you find yourself warping to a mission pocket full of yellow wrecks in your Noctis?
If you want to ninja salvage you better not bring a slow ass Noctis since you can't tractor the wrecks/cans anyway! I'm prohibited from ninja salvaging anyway so not my concern.

Simply pointing out what does and doesn't work in case he warps to his local belt and tries it and is all like "Well that didn't ******* work, that prick on the forums said it would." |
