A lot of "idiots" (aka. miners) got them for 5.5M and still made money out of it. Nothing stupid with it.

I sold cu's for 2.5-3.5 mil... Idiots people say? Heh, well enough people who buy them. The ones not buying and mining less are the idiots in my eyes. __________________________

Well, if I raised my skill in mining to 5 and got Astrogeology 5 I could make 2+ million each hours with a miner 2 if I use 6. 7/8 and it seven more.
I did a fast calc on Omber, a often mined roid.
So, for some it's only a few hours work to recup the cost. á

Considering the Miner 2 BP's given away during recent events have a limit of 100 I don't think 2.5M is unreasonable.
It's not that long ago you mopes were paying 2M for CU Vapour Bores which cost the purveyors nothing but time to get.
Personally, I'll be getting mine for 25K but that's because I am l33t.

Note the "out of stock" comment.
Doesn't matter what the thing cost to produce. The fact is that only 48 can be made per day. Hence, Techell can charge whatever they want. It's simple supply and demand. Supply is limited, demand is high, therefore the price is high.
All of the other Miner II vendors are charging 5mill and people are still buying - Why? Because what Techell charges is irrelevant if they're out of stock. (From what I've heard they have a 4-5 day waitlist for miner IIs at their price.) ---------------- Blue Screen of Death CEO Exodus Enterprises |

I'm getting tired of seeing these posts by complete fools. Yes they are charging 2.5 mil per miner II. so what? You want to buy one for 200k? Go get laughed at! It costs 40k to produce, yes, but considering they can only produce so many..... They can charge what they want. In fact, they're charging the cheapest price i've seen so far. 5.5m was the average i saw.
So people, if something costs 40k, it DOESN'T mean the seller HAS to sell for 10% profit. Get a clue, then ***** if you want.

2.5 mil is a very low price. I can believe they sold out because I have been filling orders all day at SIGNIFICANTLY above that.
I only take orders of 5 or more because I don't want to deal with all the PvP trades.
All the people that bought just a few days ago for ever 5 million are now making excellent profits and have paid for the miners already.
Anyway, if you need more Miner 2s please feel free to contact me.

Idiots, Idiots, we are all idiots...
I think $2.5 million is a great price for Miner II's. Vapors sold for 2 million each and went up to $3.5 million two weeks before the Miner II's came out. Now they are back down to about a million.
I also agree that those people that worry about the cost it takes to make things doesn't pay attention to what they buy in the real world. Those nice Tommy Hilfiger jeans that cost you $40 were made for the same price as a pair of Arizona jeans, which means you paid $38 to wear the brand name.
Now some idiot id going to say, "but I don't wear those jeans"...... You get the picture, everything is marked up, and it's that way because people will pay it.
Mining for 6 hours will pay for your lasers, unless your a dumbass and your outfitting an Imicus with Miner II's...
You find them for 200K you let me know, by that time the EVE expansion will be out, what expansion, beats the hell out of me, thats just how long you will be waiting...
Buy or don't buy, it's a choice. Does not make you an idiot for doing either, so let people spend their money.

Miner II marlet is far from a monopoly.
The friday Yulai event should have dispensed 10-20 bp's alone. Then there was the drops in Stain and the handout to TTI.
Far from the insane situation on the rest of the market, but there are a *lot* of people you can get miner II's from. Lowest selling price I saw was 500k...and i'm NOT naming the supplier

500k,,,,,is dumb.
he kills his own market for the miner II by getting no own good profit.
selling them for 2.5 m ISK is cheap ... to cheap in my eyes.
and for all who whine now that the needed minerals only cost 40k ....... **** happens :-) if u would do ur homework u would know that these miners re easy 5.5 m ISK worth. in use with astrogeology skill they re hot ..... no roid stays very long a miner with some miner II babys. the difference re not only some 1,2 extraore like the advantage from a cu vap ... no,,, count 15 ore difference to cu vap and more with nice skilling.
so whiners,,,do ur homework.

Edited by: Jerrico Delen on 17/08/2003 15:29:09 Why is everyone gettting so het up? This is a player driven economy. If people can make money they will. Thats how it works.
It's nice to see a bit of enterpreurship going on. Market pressures will drive the price down eventually then most people will be able to afford a miner 2. ======================================== Leodis Enteprises Corporation

No, the Friday event dispensed 5 production-limited BPs, limit 100 (2 days production) each.
Not even going to make a dent in prices. From the looks of things, all of the prople who received BPs from that event are keeping the 100 lasers for their own corp.
Status of the BPs known: 2 TTI exchange BPs. One went to O.E.C. corp, which was later sold to Techell. The other went to an unknown corp who was using alts to sell. (One of them was Caroline, can't remember the other names). Supplier #2 hasn't been seen since the patch. 2-3 Stain BPs - The only one of these that is being used to supply the public is Golden One's. All of the others appear to be used only for internal consumption by the Stain Alliance.
Mars Volta of RUS appears to have some supply, not from his own BP. He's been reselling them for 5mill. Unless you buy from Techell (who has a 5 day or longer waitlist), you will pay 5mill.
That's about it. No one else has been selling Miner IIs to the general public in any appreciable quantity. ---------------- Blue Screen of Death CEO Exodus Enterprises |

Could you please post server time instead? It is ready-at-hand for everyone, and you don't accidentally miss it by an hour due to silly daylight saving time miscalculations or anything like that.
Thanks.
Edit: According to this site, EST corresponds with UTC-5. Server time is UTC, so the magic hour would start at 23:00 this Wednesday. |
