Are Stealth Bombers finally useful? Apparently i can un-cloak and immediately target then fire on an enemy. This true? (i'm training the required skills now)

Yes, the sensor re-calibration time has been removed for stealth bombers. AND you can recloak within 5 seconds.
Truthfully, they were useful before as well - this just makes them that much easier to use. Just don't think you're a BS - you're a ninja, quick, hard hitting and quiet - then you leave before 16 guys jump in and whack you.

Time to one alliance flaming another, 4 posts.
They were useful before but they were kind of a PITA. But now they sound fun as heck. *makes note to get a manticore before the price skyrockets any further*

Edited by: QwaarJet on 18/12/2005 09:23:34 Bombers were great before, now they are pwnage mobiles.I've been teting them on sisi, and it's really difficult to lose one now.
Alliances that don't incorporate Bomber squads before were ignorant, now they are an accident waiting to happen.

bombers are way too slow to keep up with ceptor squads, they are a nice compliment to a squad that has cruisers and HACs though, since they don't need to be as quick

Ive never seen someone mention it but why not use FoF cruises. The target would not know till it hit them and you would already be recloaked? Or am I wrong

FoF missiles do far less damage than regular Cruise Missiles, and it would need your target to engage you first before they fired. A Passive Targetter I fitted to a Stealth Bomber can result in some very nasty surprises for your target, and has the added bonus of stopping them auto-locking you back straight away.

FoF only work on someone aggressing you.
As for stealth bomber changes, all welcome though the difference is only slight with the ability to lock much quicker. i still think stealth bomber speed/armour etc combined with any mwd'ing frigate able to close fast and not worry about cruise missiles is their achilles heal along with the usual instalock sniping bs and such but overall should be better fun little ships.
Still, I fancy my rapier more now :)

AFAIK passive targeters don't work. I just contributed 0 to this topic :) |

Edited by: Jon Hawkes on 18/12/2005 17:15:06 They do: I've tested them against numerous corpmates and one very unfortunate pod
EDIT: I think it's the Automated Targetters that are faulty at the moment.
