This may be slightly in the wrong topic section, however this is no every day post. Today we of The Confederation had some devestating news delivered to us.
Our Navy leader, Caine Domini was involved in an car accident this morning, and sadly passed away. This news shocked even the quietest solo players within the alliance and many have already posted their Goodbyes and thankyous onto our forums, however many of you knew caine, had no access to this knowledge, and dont have access to our forums. So i thought i would extend the message to all that knew him, even for a 3 minute convo.
Caine Domini was the leader of The Confederation Navy. He led the fleets to many victories, and pulled morals and spirits up even after heavy defeats. He had tactics, intelligence, and patience. He had dedication and commitment, and knew how to handle responsibility. He had the signs of any great leader, and although we may be reminded every so often that eve is just a game, Caine was a real leader in all our minds and hearts. And a good friend.
I knew Caine for a few months, and thats all. Yet, even though ive never met him, nor many other CFD members, he still was a friend. It may be a game, but the friends are real. He was real. And that brings it home i find, and im just a 17 year old boy who knew him only as Caine. But his family, and his real life friends must be feeling a pain far beyond that which i and other CFD members feel at this moment. So this is my plea.
Im hoping to get as many friends and those who knew him to write a little something for his family and friends. We shall then combine the replies here with the CFD ones, and create a complete list of people, and their messages for the man which many of us looked up to. Caines family and friends are most likely unaware of the friends and impressions hes made, and i believe it to be The Confederations wish that they learn of Caines true role in our lives, if only for a few months, those impressions can last forever. As will Caine.
Thankyou all for reading this, and please dont move or delete it. Take this as more important than Eve politics for a moment, for people to say goodbye. And thankyou all,
The Confederation

Caine will be remembered in the alliance as someone who was ALWAYS willing to help anyone when they asked for it. Whether it be to escort someone on a 20j haul, help ride shot gun in a roid field, creep around and help bust up gate camps OR come to the rescue of someone crying for help in local.
When things got tough in the alliance, he was one of the first to help rally and regroup our efforts. He was a prime example how this game brings people from ALL walks of life together.
He WAS a true team player AND will be sorely missed by The Confederation.

Caine was a great friend, selfless, witty, fun, dedicated, loyal, brave, and honorable. To fly with someone one day, and the next see that empty spot in the chat channel, and not see that friend anymore, is a sad sad thing. To those of his corp, VPTL, who were his RL friends as well, and are now dealing with this loss in their personal lives, his loss is even greater. My prayers and support go out to you and his family.
I am proud to have known you Caine...

I only had the honour to fly a few times with Caine during my time in CFD, but I remember well his leadership and honour.
May he fly safe in the heavens he was always meant to fly in. Why are the finest always taken

He led several fleet ops I was involved with when we were in CFD. He was always willing to give advice and never got frustrated with those of us who were new to pvp.
He is a credit to the Eve community, and will be missed. _______________ Spiritu Sanctum |

I'm so sorry that he passed away so early, I will miss our contradictory chats, his stubborn way of being patient. My wish this Christmas is an unrealistic one - I wish I knew him better. Rest in peace Jesse.

Rest in peace, Jesse. Too bad we can't trade in the worthless sack that hit you to God to get you back. You'll be missed.

Rest in Peace. May the sun shine on your spirit forever. A brave MAN goes forth before us on a mission that we as a whole are not able to follow in. May his friends and family live to the Ideal he lived up to and for.
