World of Warcraft's servers aren't one big server, they run multiple, significantly smaller servers. EVE's server is the most advanced server used for gaming purposes in the world. Everything is on one shard. It's more difficult to maintain than World of Warcraft's servers. Also World of Warcraft's downtime does affect UK daytime. It's almost the same time if memory serves as the EVE DT is. And it's a lot longer. The only plus is that it's only done once a week, on a Wednesday if I recall correctly. |

350k ISK isn't a lot in the grand scheme and you won't get any reimbursement for lost time in game, skill points maybe if it goes on for hours. Then again they could always give out another special edition Magnate.... |
