ok, how do you get them to work, I'm sitting here with 50% armour, the drone orbiting me and no option to get it to repair me, what gives?

You use them to repair other ships, not your own.

they work like the other remote armor reps...... you can only use then on someone elses ship in space. So even tho they are orbitting you, they cant repair you, silly isnt it, but if there are two in your gang... then rep each other for free.

this wasn't mentioned in the dev description, nor the skills, nor the drone description. This is utter ****e. Can we have a definitive answer on this from the devs and if it is so, why didn;'t you say so I wouldn't have bothered training up for these useless crocks

I wonder why CCP suggest to test things out on sisi first :/
If your going to invest training time in something, not that armor rep drones can take that long to train for, then you should have tried it pre-RMR.
If you tried it on sisi, and it doesn't work the same as it does now on TQ, then sure, you can whine.
As it stands you didn't test it out as suggested by CCP, so you have no right to complain.
As for being useless, hardly. Now a gang mate can get a free armor rep, and if he can use the drones, so can you.

Thing is, with one month old batchs, it's kinda a hassle to get your skills back to where they are on TQ to test things, so you can train the new skills (if you hadn't them at the batch time for example).
Anyway, even if it's what's intended, it's seems quite weird a drone can rep any ship but not the ship that has launched it and it is orbiting

signed...remoting drones that only remote other ships is stupid...unless of course you are trying to get more people to join the game cause now you need a friend to actually make them anygood

Silly yes, but most likely to avoid imbalancing a great many ships.
And yes, their abilities could be better documented. I do not agree that a person should be expected to get on the test server to be well informed.
And lastly, even in their current state they are far from useless. They are not a no brainer, and the targeting interface could be better set up to make use of items that are designed to be used on a targeted ally... but useless? Hardly.

wasn't it a little odd that the skill to use them needed REMOTE ARMOR REPAIR SYSTEMS III?
no?

so we were supposed to infer what they did based on the secondary skill tree - ah I see. Why the hell not put it in the desciption, something really difficult like - allows the repair of another ship's armour.

besides that I still wouldn't have twigged based on the skill tree as they are remote - remote to my ship so it would make sense. Still think it's weird and still haven't seen anything written down to confirm this is the way they are supposed to work. Probably won't either
