I don't think this has been posted yet. I believe I spotted this in the new issue that just came out. If that turns out incorrect, my apologies.
There is a full three-page spread about EVE online in PC Gamer, the USA publication. This is very good news, as EVE-Online has seen very little exposure from other gaming mags published in this country. While the USA polulation on Tranquility is pretty good, it is not thriving as well as it could be, certainly not compared to the European population. Because Europe has much more advertising and exposure for EVE-Online, that credits its playerbase to most of the concurrent user records and most popular timezones.
I didn't have a chance to get page scans today, so I will post them tomorrow. Like other recent EVE-Online articles, this three-page spread isn't so much about the game itself, but a particular event in the game. The article was about Istvaan Shogaatsu(sp?) and the 'Guiding-Hand Social Club' pulling their most devastating heist agaisnt the player "Miriel' and her corporation. I'm sure when HG sees this, he will post a link to the official annoucnement made when this event happened. It has much better details about the event than my shoddy brain can remember.

Wait. It is quite possible that it is illegal to scan the pages and post them here. The idea is very good but if you can't get a permission from the magazine please do not distribute the pages!

I think the general idea is that people buy the magazine if they want to read the article.

This sounds like a repeat of the story they ran in the PCGamer UK edition a bit back. There was already a thread about that one.
It is good that Eve is getting some press in the US. --------------------------------------

If it is only a couple pages from the magazine, then it is not illegal.

So if I just murder you a little it's okay? Uhm.. Ah.. Now where'd I put that chainsaw. Or copy just couple movies out of them all Or songs from CDs.
I'm sure it's not what the magazine thinks. Or the law.

it would be for CCP illigal to Host those pages - they would violate the Copyright Law. However, it would not be illigal if the member posted a Link to them... [Make Sure that Link is NOT Clickable - but needs to be copied and pasted into a browser] that would aleviate any Copyright Issues for CCP.
Cheers.

Well then lets look at decency.
Someone went to the trouble to write an article in order for a company to earn money. By copying it and throwing it all over the internet you are ******* that up, it may or may not be illegal.
What is the decent thing to do?

No, actually it IS what the magazine thinks. If you don't know the copyright rules, then don't pretend you do. This is a positive thread, so please dump your trash replies somewhere else. Thank you.

I am sorry. I do not want sound as sanctimonious as you do... but... Contraband Inc. member should talk about decency. Ohą Myą Godą Hell has Frozen Over.
I for one would love to read the article. And PC magazine makes 99% of its Money in Advertising and not in Peer Sales. Take it from someone who actually works for a magazine. So, 4 pages posted wouldnĘt be an issue.

Go buy the magazine? I am going to buy it tomorrow. Those living in the USA that are interested in the magazine, based on what I posted here, can also go buy the magazine, as well purchase a subscription at http://www.pcgamer.com/inthisissue.html
People buy and subscribe to magazines because of individual content that is exchanged among friends and communities. I have seen people in USA go so far as getting PC-Gamer UK subscriptions when they saw posted articles and content that they really liked.
I don't think you are trying to stand any moral ground here, as it is obvious that companies love to earn money based on community gossip and word-of-mouth. It's free advertising. No, I think you are just looking for a reason to flame, because you are disgruntled about path week and server lag.
I'll post the scans tommorrow. PC Gamer cares as little about you looking at them, as they do about me posting them. Bite me.

Ubiqa heist, or "Buy one assassination and we'll give you one large scale robbery for free"? Been posted before. I've got scans of those pages on my harddrive but I won't post them on these boards. Maybe on MC's if you ask nicely.

Just because I shoot people ingame doesnt mean I'm up for that in the real world Einstein.
You dont sound sacntimonius, you sound ill informed. You've never run across me ingame, I doubt you have run across my corp either, how does this put you in a position to judge anything?

Oh there is a small print somewhere that they give rights to copy and redistribute their stuff? That's nice. Generally the law is very much against that and I just tried to imply that. (Not to mention the EULA, ...) But if you have the tendency to try to mis-understand everything by purpose go weep in some dark place and die away. You're a horrible person and no one likes you. Besides you are ugly.
