I would like to put up a pos in high secerity space. i know the logistics, equipment, and standings i will need. what i dont know is will there be any moons left in a 0.5 system or better to put one up. I want a lab for material research, copy, invention. I'm sure im not the only eve player that has thought this. So what i want to avoid is having everything ready then, only after spending the isk, do i find out that i cant put one up in minmatar space due to over crowding. Please let me know if my thinking on this is true or way off. If there are moons available in said areas please let me know where they are. |

There will be free moons.
However, you're going to have to go looking yourself. There's nothing in it for people to tell you. It's changing regularly, so it''d be a never ending job to keep a list up to date.
As a tip: you can avoid having to do to each moon in turn by warping to the planet, then dscanning with a radius that will include all the moons. Then just count control towers.
Remember, its your corp's standing that needs to be 5 or higher with the faction, not a personal standing. so no skills apply.

Yes, there will be open moons somewhere. Where exactly, you'll have to scout around and see. |

You can MAKE a free moon too.
find a pos that's offline (3 out of 4 are), determine whether or not the corp is active (many are not), and look for one with 1-10 players, so as to give it your best guess as to ALL of them being inactive. Check killboards, check eveboard for training characters in that corp... find one inactive.
Laod up a myrm with lasers and 4-5 sets of crystals, 4 heavy drones, and pound on it all day. Small pos takes about 8 hours to take down with a myrm like that. Get a freind or two for a larger pos.
i have downed a few like that. never met opposition. |

Don't forget to war declare the corp and wait 24 hours before doing this.  |

Get more than five jumps from a trade hub and you should be able to find moons. |
