This will be a month or two down the road, but are there any pirate hunting corps (player pirates, not npc pirates)? I know about the bounty hunter missions and, looking forward, will be training and gearing for them. I was wondering if there were any corps that where focused in this area, or any other resources on recommended ships, loadouts and training for this type of game play.
thanks

As a two month player in the middle of a raging war against pirates... I would highly recommend cooling your jets until you get a few million skill points trained up.
Carebears (like myself) get chewed up by pirates.
There are many pirate hunting corporations out there.
The one I am in is OT Mongers. Feel free to pm me for info if ya want.

Yeah, that's the plan. I was hoping for some advice on what skills are most useful for bagging rats. I figure to be a fight or die kinda guy, so stabs aren't really the direction I want to go. And knowing that the rats have slots taken up with sebbers and disruptors should be giving me an edge. IF I know how to take advantage of it . Are there any resources for prospective bounty hunters (other than the obvious)?
And I am currently focusing most, but not all, of my training time on the learning skills; following the 'most efficient charted path' that I found somewhere.

Well, before you venture into risky rat stomping grounds you'll want to have Tech2 everything when it comes to turrets/launchers. Check out the req skills for all the T2 stuff you want to equp and start working on the long, slow path to elite ships as well.
There are literally dozens of skills that will help you get an endge from engineering to weapon specialization.
That will get ya started.
Plus you'll need to have a steady income to support the MANY lost ships you will rack up since pirate hunting is very hazardous. lvl 3+ agent missions may be able to cover your early days but covering a Heavy Assault Cruiser (always a good bounty hunter ship) will not be so easy.
My best suggestion is never hunt alone. NEVER Without stabs, you'll be a sitting duck for almost ANY pirate with 2 years exp under their belt and a fancy ship untill you have just as much and if you find a group of em... they will probably jam you (like a 98% chance) and 3+ vs 1 no matter what ships/skills the players have usually has the same outcome
Good luck! <---------------------------------------> Sometimes when I laugh, I pee a lil.... <---------------------------------------> |
