What would your ambitions be? Do you strive for the simple life, wife and children, or do you what to clutch that sheep-skin at Harvard/Cambridge and know you're one of the 500 people chosen from who knows how many applicants?

If someone is happy and content with the way things are, why would they seek to remain competitive? Yes, humans are driven by ego & pride at trying to better ourselves but many are happy already even where there is opportunity for 'improvement' as others would see.

Now your power has gotten soft since you turned to the light side. I havent seen you jump all over someones thread in bitterness and irony for no other reason than to irk the OP (and still making a good point doing it.) Hell for that matter I havent had the chance in weeks to try and raise your ire by saying "your only bitter because you work for Microsoft." Short Term: Improve my Navy career Short Term: Make E-5 (more moneys) Long Term: Be a better husband and great father for my almost newborn son. Long Term: Own a home with a decent yard, in a decent place, and find a job I enjoy waking up for every workday. Althought sex with Drew Barrymore is up there.

Examples of things that are on my to do list : - Create true articifial intelligence (ai that can learn and isn't specialized in a certain area or bound to a certain type of input device) - Learn psi related skills - Learn obe related skills - Figure out how much my opinions are affected by the opinions of those around me - Learn various martial arts stuff - A bunch of other stuff, including making the list shorter (which is arguably the most difficult task) I think my main problem is that I don't really have short term goals, which makes it more difficult to progress long term.
