I put myself through college working as an auto mechanic.
I mainly did oil changes, transmission fluid/filter changes, brake jobs & some other stuff...
I learned that some ppl are so stupid & ignorant that they should not even be alive let alone driving around out there on the highways etc...
I'm glad I don't work a service job anymore, because I would have murdered some ******* customers by now...

I worked in a shop once, was a horrible place, though I did get discount on clothes and shoes which kinda made up for it

Edited by: JeanLuc Picarde on 03/01/2006 20:12:22 rofl, come to manhattan.
despite hollywood's best attempts to impress the world with how rude new yorkers are, the opposite is true. its a very rare occurance to get excessively rude behavior *beyond snottiness in some retail areas* from customers in manhattan, cause yer just as likely as not told to go **** yourself in no uncertain terms and shown the door. heh. thats the beauty of a customer rich environment.

Oh no.. I deal with much worse. Dumb Americans are far worse than dumb Europeans.
1.) Customers who pick off merchandise from a peg/shelf (with the price tag right above/under it(respectively)): "How much is this?" *points at price tag* "I AXED YOU HOW MUCH IT BE, NOT POINT AT NO F*****N TAG!" Some day I'll tell them to stop being a dumb***, and use their eyes.
2.) Customers that blame YOU for their cellphone bill, because obviously, YOU are to blame for THEM going 3000 minutes over their limit. Or their daughter for calling China.. Or whatever. -- Smile, nod, "I'm sorry, but I just sell the phones. If you would like, I can get you in touch with customer service; but otherwise, I am unable to help you."
3.) Customer comes in to pay their cellphone/credit card bill. "How much do I owe?" I dunno, it's your phone!
4.) Customers that want a new phone, but can't understand the question: "Do you already have service with *said company*, or are you a new customer?" "I'm a new customer." *couple minutes later* blah blah "Oh, I just lost my phone and want a new one. I don't want another 2 year contract." *cry*
5.) Customer walks in the store 1 minute before you close. "What time do you close?" "Now." "Oh, ok. I'm just going to look around for a bit." ... While you're looking, we do carry hearing aids.

Anyone that has to deal with the general public will have similar tales of woe. No matter how laid-back, open-minded, and liberal you are to begin with, you end up being cynical and ultra right-wing. You realise that people are scum. They are ignorant, stupid *******s. You start thinking that maybe eugenics isn't such a bad idea after all. There will never be a shortage of idiots. We will never see headlines that say, "World breathes collective sigh of relief as idiot crisis is averted."
It's a shame really. There are lots of decent people out there, but all you remember are the 10% that give humanity a bad name.
