Is it safe to give the last six digits of my credit card to the support team?
They requested it along with the name of the card as I haven't been able to subscribe.

You gave your full credit card number in the hands of ccp, when you subscribed. You should ALWAYS read your bill, and you can cancel any debit on it.
I'd say: yes. --- All my statements are my personal opinion. I am not speaking on behalf of any entity, corp or alliance in this forums. |

Yeah, I thought it over and personally think it should be safe, it's just you do get some places that are iffy and well, I'm new to EVE ^_^
Does the EVE Support section team have a closing time or something? Because it seems you never get a reply after like 6pm

WAIT A MINUTE! How did they contact you? Email? The ONLY place you should ever enter your personal information into is your "my account" site seen to the left on this site. NEVER trust anyone who asks for it directly, not even if they claim to be CCP.

Ok... the last 6 digits of a credit card is your full account number. The other digits of a credit card are standardized for the type and when they were issused. COmpanies can ID your acct based on the last 4 ( hence why on webpages your card shows up as XXXX XXXX XXXX 1234). SO no. never give your info out

It's the first four and last four digits that are the utmost importance. They can still extrapolate it with the last six, but the basics of a CC# are:
XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX ^^Bank. ^^Algorhythm ^^ Algorhythm ^^ Account. (last 2 "close" algorhythm)
So no, don't give it out freely. They should have a method to go put it in through the account info, you might want to petition them asking, although I can't say I've heard of a phisher scheme using Eve (and working for an ISP I have to pay attention to that crap), better safe than sorry.
Me.
