after i downloaded and installed the 1165 patch i can no longer play eve, well it load then i always get ,, server down. is this due to the NYC black out still, its sunday 5 pm in montana usa MST. and from what i read in forums people are playing. if its not the black out,, how can i fix it. running wind XP pro<updated> P4 2.4 GHz cpu,, 1 gig ddr ram, gf fx 5200 128 met <updated> audigy 2 sound <updated> v90-92 internal modem. HELLLLP i dont want to stop playing lol.

Blackouts in America don't affect the servers, since their in Europe. It ain't over till the fat lady falls on ya!

Edited by: Jacquiera on 17/08/2003 23:43:17 Reinstalled twice now and downloaded both the patch from 1128-1165 and the patch 964<fergot #> to 1165, tried both ways, still cant connect. and this was the day the patch came out.

Edited by: Jacquiera on 18/08/2003 00:13:52 ok tried a 3rd reinstal, same thang, cant connect to server. i dont have a firewall that i know of on, but god knows with crappy windows XP. so how do i find what port im using for the game and set it to the right one and to set the proper ISP for it. i know windows 98 but i dont even try and learn windows XP in hopes they come out with a better OS SOOON.

Well after doing a system Restore to 2 days before the patch 1165 and my windows update which i did at same time. I found that to be part of the problem it was iether the windows update or the virus i got with it listed below. so if others have a prob like i did, i hope the info i provide here is useful. thanks for yalls help, sarcastic or no.
scan for this virus or use ya file finder to look "msblast.exe" it will be in your windows/system32 folder. you need to goto http://securityresponse1.symantec.com/sarc/sarc.nsf/html/w32.blaster.worm.removal.tool.html to get the necessary program to get rid of it. it messes with your internet connections and is a nasty lil bugger.
