W-space needs more tech from sleeper drops. There's a whole lot of worthless stuff I've been saving for years and it's still not worth my effort to put on the market......how about we get to produce things from it.....you know....thing people want. How about more ships built from sleeper loot, more mods, implants, more stuff?
And how about we get WiS in w-space. It would work like this: You go back to POS and you enter WiS. Immediately you're ejected out of your pod and into the vacuum of space.....oh the tears!
And ice cream.......with whipped cream and a cherry on top.....with little bits of peanuts and those multi-colored topping things and hot fudge. HTFU!...for the children! |

Leave the statics as they are.
Stop the calls for homogenization already.
Well they are not fine at all, your carebear paradise will not last forever.
Why is it a carebear paradise, because you can't get your caps into it to hulk smash with your alliance what are typically 5 man corps?
Is that why it's a carebear paradise?
I've lived in a C4 before.....got booted out when we SB'd an alliances noctis full of sleeper loot something like 600mil worth. They weren't happy. And they came back a week later to exact revenge. Maybe you shouldn't be so lazy?

Roime wrote:You're missing the issue- the paper to T3 rock is another rock. Sure you can fly other stuff, we all did and do it, but it's giving your opponent one ahead "just because". And every time the **** get serious in w-space, it's T3s or go home and literally nobody disagrees with this.
It's not like I'm the only one who thinks T3 meta gets boring after a while, just like every other monotype doctrine. And this is why nerfing T3s slightly, together with the upcoming buffs to other relevant classes would add more variety on the field. Not sure why anyone would oppose variety and options.
It's dramatically different from lowsec, where people fly everything from T1 frigs to supers, and have good fights. No choice is sub-optimal.
T3's are not your problem as you've defined it.
I'm guessing you were sitting cloaked in your proteus, right?
I know I troll and joke a lot but in all seriousness I think I know the problem. It's the lack of viable cloaky combat ships. See, in null & lo, they have this thing. It's called a cyno/bridge. They can project onto their targets an unknown fleet. In w-space, we don't have that. Instead, we maintain our dps fleets either one or two hops away if they aren't cloaky or we have a cloaky T3 fleet in the same systems where the action is to take place. We don't want our composition to be intelled away from dscan.
In terms of tactics, a cloaky T3 fleet in w-space is equivalent to a fleet in null/lo that is about to cyno in. If CCP could address this issue adequately so that our w-space fleets aren't at a disadvantage to outsiders who come into us, a T3 nerf is not going to be as painful as it might sound, economics issues withstanding.
To offer the variety that you're looking for would require a new mod or new class of ships that are affected by an effect ubiquitous to w-space which would allow them to cloak. If it's a new mod then we're going to have to give up a slot that would otherwise put us at a disadvantage to a similarly fit ship of the same hull but without cloakiness. If it's a new class of ships then it probably won't resolve the lack of variety.
Personally, it's not the ship I fly from which I gain enjoyment. It's the hunt, it's the uncertainty, the jousting, the local trash talk and of course the tears. For me, the ship has little to do with it. HTFU!...for the children! |

Chitsa Jason wrote:Guys you can stop talking about T3s. Its not T3 rebalance thread.
The mention of T3 in a few of the posts here are indicative of a lack of variety in w-space. As I stated and is of paramount import is nullsec's force projection which allows them to maintain a fleet's composition to be hidden while having the ability to quickly project that fleet to a specific point in space at the appropriate time.
Since w-space lacks local and force projection, cloaky ships have taken on the traditional fleet composition in w-space purely because they can tank/dps like many non-cloaky counterparts without giving their presence or composition away. Without T3's we don't have the ability to have a dps/tank fleet hidden away that can quickly respond as null does without rendering them completely useless because their response time is now going to be 30 seconds - 2 minutes depending how far away you're having to hide them.
That also means if 1) as a tackle you're able to hold a fleet for 30s to 2 minutes waiting for a DPS fleet to arrive, the targets have the opportunity to see the fleet coming and disengage minus anyone who can't get out or 2) as a tackle you're just going to die because you can't tackle anyone and survive for 30s - 2min.
W-space needs more viable cloaky DPS/TANK ships.......which fits your question "What is wrong with wormhole space?" which also has little to do with the T3 other than it's ability to adequately fit the role like no other ship that I've defined here.
Having thought about this a bit more, a role specific ship that has the ability of an area effect able to cloak non-cloaky ships while holding position and in a fleet warp would probably be extremely valuable in w-space. Perhaps use the HIC as an example. Within it's given bubble range ships would not appear on dscan and/or be visible at all limited by a certain total volume or mass of ships contained therein. Any ship that would put the total mass over limit of ships contained therein would disrupt the entire field allowing for scouts to be able to decloak the fleet.
Since this type of ship would be invaluable anywhere in any space, CCP could also make it produced from sleeper tech also offsetting any potential negative effects of them nerfing the ONLY ship that makes the w-space economy work. Sounds like a win-win to me. More variety of ships. More viability for ships that don't cloak. And it softens the incoming T3 nerf. HTFU!...for the children! |

Winthorp wrote:I think to fix WH space is to boost the number of people
The #1 reason more people don't come to w-space is the time sink. The other main reasons I've heard tossed around frequently is risk versus reward. Corp theft. And of my own opinion w-space is not a noob friendly place.
W-space requires way too much time to do anything. We often joke on TS that if you don't have 3 hours to blow, you don't have time to play in w-space. 3 hours!
- Depending on how many people you have online it's going to take 5 - 45 minutes to roll the static looking for pew. And seeing how a lot of systems don't have people or people willing to pew or people you can pew you roll your static often.
- Then there's probing for everything. That's 5 - 45 minutes or longer with good skills for every system you open up.
- The only thing producible in w-space from start to finish is a T3. You've always got to go back to k-space. So you have to go there eventually.
Risk versus reward: Up to and including C4's, HS Incursion income is way too competitive. Sure, you can make 200mil/hr in a C4. But you can make 100mil/hr in a HS Incursion without risk of being jumped and losing your shiny fleet to gankers or losing your POS and assets to sieges. Mining, do we even need to discuss why it's just so bad for income in w-space?
Corp theft: The POS system is one of those things that we should be protesting at every fanfest at every presentation as to why CCP has not yet fixed it. It takes extra-ordinary measures to work around it's dysfunction. Even giving someone the ability to fuel a pos can have disastrous consequences.
Noob friendliness: W-space requires that a player be able to probe efficiently since you do it for everything you want to do. With the new probing system, I have a toon with all level 5 probing skills, implants and a specifically fitted ship and I still lose sigs, it's rather ridiculous. If a player can't fly scout or DPS cloaked they're basically sitting at POS waiting for the rest of us to find something. If they can't field rather highskilled ship fits they're not farming and relegated to salvager position or stuff for a few months relying on PI for income.
I have rather lax standards for recruitment but still, if a player can't probe or fly dps cloaked I generally tell them they're going to be bored as hell out here. HTFU!...for the children! |

I dont care about the minigame one way or the other but the inconsistency of having rats at WH data/relic sites while theyre nowhere else is, well, inconsistent.
Yeah, the sleepers need to be removed in lower end w-space. A majority of the loot to be had from data sites has largely been de-valued by overlap from k-space which anyone can access. The market has been flooded with these items. But, in w-space our players have to spend time to clear these sites. It's a big FU from CCP.

But thank you for posting your opinion The higher class holes (C6/C5) are hard to impossible to isolate concerted efforts to find them will always succeed. Chance of finding C6 is 1/100 Chance of finding C5 is 1/500. Sounds like a lot doesn't it. U can get a new chance every 1,5 to 3 minutes if your quick about it. The lower class however are super easy to isolate. At even a generous estimate of five minutes per hole rolled, (you have to scan the new static down and it takes a few minutes to respawn) it takes thirty hours of nothing but hole rolling to have a 50/50 chance of connecting to any given C5.
That's assuming you have a fair chance to rolling into the desto hole. The "random" occurrences of rolling into some you've had previous dealings with especially if its recently seem to happen more than just through randomness.
