Quick question: If I buy the Collectors edition as a current, active, player, can I still use the 60 days of account time on the active account? |

Hey there Tkone,
The game time that comes with the Collector's Edition is in the form of a CD-key which can only be used with a new account, or to upgrade a trial. I'm afraid that this cannot be applied to an existing account which has already been upgraded from trial status.

You can at least get 30 days out of it by making a referral then using the key to activate the referral, 30 days on your main account.

You know, I was tempted to get the collector's edition, but this is the one thing that's actually keeping me from it. I just can't see spending $150 on all that stuff and not getting the game time out of it because I already have the accounts I want. |

I'm afraid that this is not correct, as a CD-Key is not an eligible payment method to use with the Buddy Program.

I'm getting it anyway for the Rifter and the extra Gnosis runs, but this really is quite lame towards the players who have been with you for these first ten years that you're celebrating with this collector's edition (and who are, let's be honest, the ones likely to want an uber-edition of a ten year old game). |

It's been brought up before and to be honest, this package will most likely appeal more to the old players.
The problem with that is that old players most likely have enough accounts and dont need another, also, they most likely have sent buddy invites to any rl friends they have long ago.
This makes the 60 day cd key pretty much useless along with all the other useless crap included in the CE *cough* dust 514 stuff *cough*.
My interests include but are not limited to throwing rocks at bee hives.
Make reasonable choices. |

I mean the CE is marketed at the current subscribers of EVE, it's not a first release of the game. So why should the players who have been playing for years to get you this far and then supported you further by buying the CE now get a worthless time card?

I dunno - how much trouble can you cause with an unlinked account for 60 days?
Obviously there's no point keeping it after the 60 days as we all have the accounts we need but maybe that's what CCP want - 60 days of chaos and carnage  |

That's how I think of it...
Make sure you route all that accts traffic through a Proxy Server and remove the filter that's between your brain and keyboard!
I'm currently taking bets on the following:
- CCP Games becomes EA Games' property.
- EVE Online will have Microtranctions everywhere. |

Maybe CCP should think about it a bit more and at least offer the option to exchange the CD-Key for GTC or something for existing players.
After all what's the point in essentially paying for 60days of gametime you can not use. |
