Looks pretty interesting to me. Dystopian fiction is something I enjoy, not anarchy on the road fight for gas type but looking at organized oppressive societies and how they run. I got more a kick out of the backdrop to 1984 than anything else. I think I'll give it a go too.

I actually side with the idea of a patrolled border to be frank. If its so porus and large with such volume (millions of illegal immigrants I've heard) then yea, Police it and send them to the appropriate corresponding autbority on the other side.
Think we need to step up patrol of the Mediterranean too, get boatloads of people in crappy rafts coming to Malta and Italy to get work. We lock them up for up to 18 months because we don't know what to do with them. Send them back to Africa I say, we xan track them on Sonar coming over so drop them off where they leave port from. Simples

Well, let's put things in perspective.
When your "enemy" is willing to cram 6 in a toy raft and sail for 24 to 48 hours across 30 or 50 miles of sea, the only way to prevent them from trying is to kill them, and that won't work much once they assume they're dead and still that's a better prospect than just stay in Africa one minute more.
I mean, even now that Spain is a cesspool with null opportunities for either locals and inmigrants, they still cram together in toy rafts and venture to the sea. They still do whatever it takes to save enough and buy round-trip airplane tickets and get the cash they're required to enter the EU, and then fly in to never leave.
There's not much to contest when you're the only hope to certain people. That's something we're learning for free now that it's our young folks who go and try to find a place abroad -at least until they become akin to a pest. If we weren't in the worst economic depression since the great one with worse unemployment rates, I would be more accommodating. As it stands our taxpayers are having to bailout bankrupt social services in tthesame border nations these boats are going to. We might have to go through a mass exodus from Spain, Portugal and Greece to the rest of the EU, but they take priority over those coming her illegally. I think that proving getteting into Euroe by boat to be futile would be showing it, maybe estBlish regugee camps in North Africa given the UN treaty syas they have to take refuge in the first nTion they come too.

As for illegals... well they usually end up in Spain at most. we're too far from Africa. Brazilians don't come here anymore either, we are the ones that actually go there lol. Wow, that looks like kind of a bizarre game. I used to work in a law firm that had a lot of illegal immigrant clients. (Not the agriculture worker kind. The urban kind that own or work in dollar stores, gas stations, restaurants or trucking/warehousing businesses). Looks like an interesting game, but too much like RL work to be enjoyable. |

Secretly trying to enter Arstotzka with LEGAL papers ... No time to play, no time to have fun :(
What I enjoy of that game is the fact it has made me realize, that when you do things the RIGHT way you have a lot of doors closed.
But if you simply go the illegal immigrant route, everything goes smooth, I mean ... COME ON!
Totally flummoxed the way things work in the world ...
The more law abiding you are, the worst it goes for you.
Busy busy busy ...
Also been on a long holiday to Dominican Republic and its gorgeous beaches, specifically Bavaro Beach in Punta Cana , now sporting a tan I look less like an evil Vampire and more like a Mexican Narco , all I need now is some neck/arm tattos and will look like an "Esse"
As a sidenote, if you really want to travel on a budget and pay for an ALL INCLUDED stay (breakfasts, lunches and dinners with 2 to 4 restaurant dinners ) go to the Barcel+¦ Punta Cana Resort.
It-¦s relatively cheap and the beaches at Playa Bavaro are awesome. Just plan for a check in during the middle of the week since if you try to check in on the weekend its going to be hell. Hotel is OK, food is OK too, but you are there for the beaches , not to stay in the rooms and Dominicans are actually pretty decent people.
Interesting country Dominican Republic. But so far, nothing beats Panama ever. I been around all of Central America lately and to be honest, the only country that is worth it in an business sense is Panama.
As a tourist in Dominican Republic I was offered all the stuff I can get in Panama already, women, men, drugs, swinger parties and everything else that relates to inserting or getting inserted in body cavities with the ease of chemicals in your body or out of it, all kinds of appendages or mechanical devices. At my age and ways of living, I kindly refused, but to be honest my Evil Vampire looks only helps for people to get close to me and offer me these kind of deals, better than saying I look like a dirty old pervert, helps my mind, I say to myself ...
If you into Cigars Dominican Republic is a godsend. Not only can you acquire REAL CUBAN cigars, but local ones are very very good, as a funny story Panama is flooded with "real cuban" cigars and in a single puff you already know which ones are NOT Cuban, and I still smile when I see gringos being offered "real cuban cigars" for like 10$ each and they all smoke and pretend its awesome here at HABANO-¦s Cigar Club, right next to the brothel full of Colombian "Se+¦oritas" (I worked nearby for 2 years)
Back to Dominican Republic the ONLY thing that piqued my interest there was the "secret" tour to Haiti for Voodoo Rituals. it-¦s better to go to Dominican Republic and then "book" the trip with a "protector" into Haiti.
It amazed me how people from Europe practically line up to do these "tours" and engage in orgiastic rituals of dubious nature as they cavort with "spirits" and "demons". If that fancies you, the trip can be from 500$ (simple trip to the border, not counting other expenses) to 4000$+ per person, depending on what you want/need, the type of effect you want done upon you or loved ones/enemies and how many dead bodies you need exhumed to eat/grind to dust/whatnot and the relative power of the Houngan/Mambo and the renown of the Hounfour.
All I can say is the border between Dominican Republic and Haiti is WAY more than a physical one. Anyone that traveled there knows what I am talking about and there is no need to add further details here.
All in all a very good trip, Punta Cana is TEEMING with Resorts all over, and it shocked me a bit seeing people from other resorts blatantly trying for you to leave your resort and go into theirs with "FREE" offers and deals (and if you talked to them a bit you could get many other things). It-¦s a very nice Caribbean experience.
So right now I am just incubating some skills atm in game and staying clear from most of my regular hobbies as Real Life unfortunately hangs heavy upon my shoulders.
But thanks for asking and hope everything is going well for you too.
Cheers!

Heh, you managed to make our backyard look like a interesting place...
All Inclusive packages to Dominican Republic are a very standard holiday package in Spain (and so RD is riddle with Spanish resorts, including the Barcelo Punta Cana). Of course, with dollar soaring and the crisis, it has ceased being "affordable", but nonetheless it's not very impressive. A tad "cooler" is Mayan Riviera in Mexico (but never go to Cancun, you oughta go to one of the resorts to the south... Xcaret and south are "cool" enough).
