Same for me. Some sugested clearing the cache, some disabling sound... Whatever... The client keeps crashing. I lost several mission bonuses because of this and I am really ****ed off

I don't know what just happened, but I can't even get to the log in screen now without Eve completely locking up my computer.
I've been playing for months on this same pc.
Here's the sequence of events:
1) During a mission, all of the sudden Eve freezes after most of the graphics disappear. Then my pc freezes- ctrl+alt+del doesn't even work. Finally, I had to press the reset button on the case...
2)Ran a scandisk and logged back into Eve. My ship warped back to the deadspace gate... Eve locked up and seconds later my computer did a hard reboot(reset). When the system restarted i was informed of a fatal error...
3) Scandisk, System restore to earlier today when all was fine, delete Eve and replace it with a copy from backup drive, restart computer...
4) Try to start Eve- it locks up at the graphic before the login screen... i press ctrl+alt+delete- my system is very slow to respond, but finally i can end Eve.
5) Deleted Eve cache and tried again- same results- ctrl+alt+del worked but very slowly- entire system was unstable while eve was trying to run...
I too am sad... this is a great game and im very patient with CCP for that reason. All my other games work fine as always so im sure this problem isnt with my system. Too bad i had 1 hour left on a skill- I knew i should have left it on frigate 5!
my system: Operating System: Windows XP Home Edition (5.1, Build 2600) Service Pack 2 (2600.xpsp_sp2_gdr.050301-1519) BIOS: BIOS Date: 08/20/03 12:57:55 Ver: 08.00.09 Processor: Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 2.80GHz HT Memory: 2046MB RAM PC3200 DDR DirectX 9.0c (4.09.0000.0904) Card name: NVIDIA GeForce FX 5700LE 256.0 MB

Update: Eve is not to blame.
What i previously described are the symptoms of a failing video card.
To quote myself "All my other games work fine as always so im sure this problem isnt with my system."- wrong!
My apologies to CCP for jumping the gun and blaming Eve.
Thank goodness i keep spare parts to do system checks when stuff starts acting weird.
Now, back to my mission...
