definatly it often ends up that you spend more on the ammo to kill the npc than you make from the bounty, I think a group of MOA's that kill players on sight should be worth far more than a measly 50k each... 100k as least. "Death Before Dishonor" |

When you can kill them at a rate of 1-2 per minute, 40-50k is plenty.
People are making 20 mill per evening farming cruisers pirates, Maybe more. .

Edited by: Jarjar on 18/08/2003 16:51:02 Edited by: Jarjar on 18/08/2003 16:50:02 They are definately not too low, 1M/hour with a cruiser isn't a problem really. Double that and you've got a decent battleship setup. People make more than double that as well, so I don't see the problem, unless you want them lowered.
Edit: By the way, back in my cruiser days... For a cargo hold full of ammo (5000 units, approx. 90000 ISK) I made 3.3+ millions. After killing 4 30k's the money for my ammo was long gone.
Edit2: Reports? From a single player? I've been farming, as many others, in systems with more than 5 other people doing it. Sometimes multiple people in the same belt, sometimes 1/belt. Doesn't lag more than... Mining.

the problem is for those that dont farm, its possable that this will be fixed soon as from reports farming starts to lag sectors a fair bit. "Death Before Dishonor" |

You don't just get bounty - you get loot too. Hitting 0.3 space, I make about 3K per minute in bounties, and for time spent, about 150K an hour in loot (recycled), more if I find something I can sell in the area.
So overall, in an hour, 330K in a 0.3.
In a 0.0 system, thats tripled. I don't know about you, but with making all my own ammo, I don't spend much. And almost a million an hour for hunting NPC pirates (10K and 20K variety), I think its fine.
This game is way too easy to make money at as it is - don't try making it easier. Theres noobies starting in my noob corp who have enough for a decent cruiser after 2 weeks of mining. There's people made enough for their first cruiser in under 3 weeks from combat alone (plus skills too). And considering a good battelship can be had, with equipment, for under 200 million, thats only about 200 hours of hunting pirates (if I wish to follow that route) to get one. At 2 hours a day, thats only just over 3 months to get a battleship - from a standing start - using just combat and loot.
So please, don't try and make it so people are getting a battleship in their first week.

What sucks isn't the bounty, it's the amount of sec rating points that you get back in return that is ridiculous... I mean common, 0.0002!? That's more an insult than a reward, it's like giving 1 cent to a beggar... better not to give anything.
The bounty is more than adequate when you go in places that have good pirates (0.0 systems). Then you get 20k, 30k+ from pirate kills, I think that's fair... plus the loot.

Yeah, that's all good bounty, but how does it compare to the people that buy up all the trade goods right before down-time and sell them again an hour later. How much profit is that "per hour"?

I think the bounties we get are just about right... It's the loot that's poor lol.
For example I killed 3 Serpentis Chief Protectors (50K ISK bounties) and got 2 Basic Co-Processors. Yup... one didn't even drop anything.
On the ammo side I'm ok... I use all lasers -------------------------------------------

Don't compare the bounty to profit from trade. The traders need a healthy sum first, and take a bit of risk in shifting the goods.
Yes, they can make a million or 5 an hour. So can you, if you get some decent loot. But killing pirates is far more fun than just jumping 20 jump round trip to deliver stuff.
The loot is ok for the moment - most pirates will carry crap recycleable stuff, with a few decent ones, plus the odd rare (which should be RARE).
And the sec rating? Whats wrong with that? So it takes you months to get up a level. Gives you something to work for.

What are you using as ammo? Crushed diamonds? I would be vastly surprised if I used more than 5% of a bounty as ammo.
(Of cource, if you use missle it's another thing, but that's the fault of the missle,s not of the bounties)
I'm prettyy much OK with the bounties, sec rating and loot. During the last 3 days I made around 70 mil combined of bounty, recycled loot minerals and rare itmes.
Sec status rises only slowly, but I think it's good so - otheriwse everyone would be on 10.0 in one month.

Erk, loot cannot be increased when they are so easy to kill, or "farm". You get maybe 1 20% rare per 100 killed NPCs. And several 15, 10 and 5% rares. And since 100 of them takes very little time to kill...
What I would like to see is CCP making all NPCs harder, non-respawning (so you cannot farm them, that is) and increase the bounty and loot accordingly, so you still get about the same amount of money hunting them, only you won't sit in one belt, constantly killing them.
Your 425mm Prototype I Gauss Gun perfectly strikes some nublar, wrecking for 1155.0 damage. |

If you DO sit in a belt and camp it the NPC's should get "smart" and spawn closer and closer until they're right on top of you.
Nothing like 6 10K NPC frigates at 1km range when you're using 650mm's to give your shields a testing time.

I 100% agree... loot shouldn't have been nerfed... the npcs should have just been made tougher! -------------------------------------------

Personally, I'd love to see areas where the pirates swarm in such numbers and levels of difficulty that it would take a team of battleships and cruiser to effectively hold them at bay.
With a corresponding level of loot as reward.

IIRC, the NPCs were tougher and what happened? People complained, and *****ed. People like indesin should be butchered because if its not one thing, its another and they HAVE to be complaining or its a wasted week.

And that is the biggest complaint that people have with CCP... they don't balance gently... they balance with a baseball bat... There should be rats out there who are bloody impossible to kill solo... yet I can handle any rat out there in a Maller with ease... hell they dont even HIT me in most cases!
The battleship players and more hardcore players really need some tougher opponenent with corresponding loot increase and bounty... Or even ones with 30k bounty but better loot but tougher than current 50k rats. -------------------------------------------
