They never had structure resistances . Anyway, they are really quite useful, but not uber too. particularly useful on a shield (low slot resist mod), but on any kind of passive tank, due to the massive increase of overall effective HP (increased shield resists, increased armor resists, great hull resists).
PS: just look how the prices have increased for T1 and especialy named T1, and you'll see how usefull they are. All damage controls used to see for less than 50k on the market, now the best named sell for 20M

Yeah, like most people. Few days before patch, some bought nearly all named on the market, and are now making a huge margin (well, huge if they bought the better named, and not by mistake the basic named, which are no better than basic, while T1 named give more resists than T1, best named being nearly as efficient as T2 which is not out yet - /me hope it won't be a monopoly like cap rechargers II)

well actually if u have a f84 local damage system you get 7.5% to armor resist and 5% to shield you also get 50% to all hull resist aswell

From what I understand, the hull resistance bonus is bugged and doesn't actually do anything. I seem to remember Tuxford posting something to that effect.
But yeah, the new damage control mods are nice. Useful for shield tankers in particular.

They've been verified as bugged by the devs - they should have hull resists. ---------------------------- T2 Destroyers: a proposal Requested Changes: An alphabet's worth |

the basic version of the module (and its named varieties) still provides the 50% to each hull resistance. best bet if u want that hull tank. T1 still useful for cheap resist to all (better for sheild tanks atm)

Do you think they will give the "damage controls" their 50% hull resistane back?

"From what I understand, the hull resistance bonus is bugged and doesn't actually do anything. I seem to remember Tuxford posting something to that effect."
That's my understanding too. Some of the modules still show the resistance bonus in attributes, but it doesn't actually do anything to hull resistances, as damage calculation ignores these values... or something to that effect.
IIRC Tuxford is hoping to put the functional hull resistances in game at some point, but there's no date for that, or anything. ^^;;

If you check the hull resistances after you install a Basic Damage control, or its named variantes (the ones displaying hull bonus), on the ship fiting display ot by geting info on your ship you will see that there is NO CHANGE, zero, nada, zip, to the hull resistances.
Still useful for shield tanks, i think.

Damage controls and any kind of armor tank, is getting looked at ALOT more in fleet ops, now that damage mods are limited to 3, 4 max.
My current Mega setup uses 3 mag stasb, 2 tracking enhancors, and 2 energized adaptive nanos.
May switch one of the energized out for a damage control, the resists may be a bit lower, but the addition to the shield resists means that Ill be gaining on total hp. (2 energized adaptives will have a stacking penalty + be capped when nearing 70%, 1 and the damage control's shield resists wont be subject to it) ---------------------------------------- Friends Forever |

they also go well with invulnerbility fields - a lot of people are using 2xinvul II and 1xDCU II for boosting shield resistances instead of 3 hardeners - frees up a midslot for something else, and if I'm not mistaken 2xinvul II and 1xdcu II will boost each resistance more than a t2 active hardener. ------------- Please make Minmatar overpowered, CCP |
