Edited by: mirel yirrin on 25/12/2005 21:51:52 5x Heavy Ion Blasters . 2x "Makulth" Heavy Missile Launchers 1 TII med Shield Booster, 1 Sheild Amp, 3 Hardners of your choice (depends on Rats your fighting) In the lows, whatever you need to fit that. If you got enough grid/Pg, Fit Ballistc Control Units and TII power Diags.
Hell I haven't flown one of these For a Age :)
Also, Pvp and Missoning setups Vary Massivly.
For PVP, same in Highs, Change the Missiles out for dual Med Nosfs, Change on Hardner for a Warp scrambler. If you scared, Drop a Ballistic Control for a Warp core Stabiliser.
I'm gonna get flamed for saying that :) --------------------------------- *Insert Rant about Forum Mods and Sig Nerfing Here* |

Blasters on a ship with neither AB/MWD nor webifier?!
Probably should use 250mm Railguns with the above setup.
Also if you're gonna use 5 rails and 2 missile launchers, use a railgun dmg mod, not a missile dmg mod.
FatBalls > CCP just checked their logs and no lag ever came from EvE |

The only way you could make this setup worse is by hull tanking. Don't put blasters on a ferox. It has a range bonus, not a damage bonus. Blasters don't really benefit from an op range bonus, rails do. Also blasters are useless without a mwd or ab. so fit 250mm rails. There is also no reason not to use a large shield booster. this IS a battlecruiser, so fit a large sb, amp, hardeners. If you are npcing you probably only need 2 hardeners. Fit a cap in the rest of the med slots, or a web if you are fighting frigs (lvl 2 missions). Ballistic controls only help missles. since you have 5 guns and 2 launchers, you want to fit magnetic field stabs, not bcs. Power diagnostics and mag field stabs in lows. You may not be able to fit heavy launchers if you are running 5 250's, so do assault or fit 200mms.

I have used the Ferox for a long time and with the new RMR changes its effectiveness is vastly increased.
There are 3 different setups i use for a Ferox, dependedent on skills.
For PVE
5 Arabelest Heavy 2 E50 Nosferatu
1 C5L Med Sheild Booster 2 Relative named hardeners 1 AB II 1 5-69 large Sheild Extender
3 Power Diagnositc II's 1 Ballistic Control I
nothing mission wise is even a challenge with the addition of 5 light drones.
for PVP
5 heavy launchers 2 Nosferatu <- 2 rails if skills are adequate and expected distance is over 12km. I find the Nosferatu are more valuable however as most ships end up close.
1 warp disruptor 1 10mn AB II 1 Med C5L booster 1 named webber 1 t2 invulnerability feild/ or EM ward
1 dmg control(BASIC) 1 ballisitc control 2 WCS<- OPtional <- switch with PDS's or BCS's

5x Malk Heavy Launchers 2x 250mm Scout
1x AB T2 1x Med Shield Booster T2 1x Active hardner (your choice according to what you are fighting) 2x Large Extended Shield T2
2x Power Diagnostic Unit T2 1x Ballistic Missile Control 1x Either Warp Core Stab or Nano
I use this setup in 0.0 for large rats spawns and running lvl 3 missions. BTW T2 gear really makes this ship. I also have a nice passive tank that I used prior if you want it.

I did all lvl.3 missions with out any problems using.
5x Heavy limos 2x 125mm prototype
1x SMALL SB II 1x 10MN AB II 1x Large extender 2x Shield hardener (rat specific)
3x Power Diagnostic System II 1x Ballistic control
Drones!!
The missiles takes care of cruisers while drones and 125mms can handle frigs/drones. You can run the small SB during the whole operation with out shuting it off.

Costly but perfect for lvl3 misions and even useful in PvP.
High 5x T2 Heavy missile launcher 2x T2 125mm rails
Med 1x T2 Med shield booster 4x T2 Shield amplifier (2x EM, 1x Kenetic, 1x Heat)
Low 3x T2 Balistic control unit 1x T2 Power diagnostic
Your missiles do not need to be tailored for the rat type but doing so will help a lot in the killing efficiency. Make sure you train the follwoing skills.
- Battle cruiser lvl5 - All Shield compensation (except for explosive) lvl4 - Heavy missile specialization lvl4 - All missile support skills lvl4 - All shield and cap skills lvl4 - Spaceship comand and Evasive manuvering lvl5
Now having done this you will have a ferox that can beat all lvl3's without you even having to look at the screen. Your sields will have resists of roughly 70% to all damage types and you should not need your shield booster except for the really difficult misions or PvP situations where you are facing a bigger opponent than your self.
------------------------------------------- Should you disagree with me, well I guess that is because I disagree with you. If you have a problem with that please feel free not to tell me. |

Just a note, if you know your going to be facing sentries fit yourself up with heavies, if not used 250s.

I prefer this:
Med 2 x Invulnerability Field II 3 x Large Shield Extender II Low 2 x Power Diagnostic System II 2 x Shield Power Relay
Cost isn't really the issue - it's the skills required to get the T2 rails - all the rest goes fine.

Sig radius is ~350 mark whereas a Raven is ~460, assuming that the Item Database is accurate as I can't log in atm.
But even so the sig radius doesn't really hurt since my regen is 80dps without resists and each resist is in the >60s.
Plus I can use the T2 ammo without any penalty since 2 x IF II's only need ~7 cap/sec and I'm able to generate more than that even with 5 x Fury misiles fitted at once...
If only they didn't cost stupid amounts to fire each one...

Edited by: Legenda on 29/12/2005 10:41:37 This is what i have been playing arround with just for the fun of it.... I tryed it with l 3 missions ....
high :
2 * 150 mm tech II rails + 5 Arb . heavy launchers
Meds :
2 large tech II shield extenders + 3 tech II shield boost amplifiers (not sure about the spelling :P)
lows :
3 shield power relays (tech II if i find some ), 1 ballistic controll (tech II) or just put another shield power relay...
This gives me atm a total shield of 9229 hp and a recharge rate of 350 ( could be better im still figuring it out).... So far im pleased with this passive setup and no cap props ..... This is just for missions of cause......

The Ferox can walk through almost any level 1 and 2 missions with little care for fittings as long as you have some weapons. I make an exception for tech secrets...
Really, level 3 missions are it's home.
