Thanks to Cdr Foxbat, i've managed to get a nice spreadsheet setup for betting on this tournament. So here are the rules for those interested:
* All bets must be sent to the character Ombeh Zombeh (Omberokoku corp). It's my alt.
* All bets must have the alliance ticker you are betting on as the comment
* All bets must be recieved by 14:00 eve time on the 28th, anything after that will be refunded
* Bets must be in multiples of 1mil, anything extra will be refunded (so, if you send 1.5mil, 500k will be sent back)
* You can bet on as many teams as you want, it's your isk, i don't care.
* I will be taking a cut of 5% for eve-uni for the deal of running the betting pool
* 5% of the total winning pool will be payed out to the winning team
* Payouts to winners will be done within 24hours of the event ending
How it works:
Everyone sends in the isk and the team they are betting on to win the championship. All the isk goes into one large pool to be won. Those that bet on any of the losing teams win nothing. Those that bet on the winning team get a percantage of the total pool as their winning prize, based on the amount bet on that team.
an example:
The Big Blue wins the competition (unlikely, but possible)
there is a grand total of 1bil in the pot
Seleene bet 10mil on Big Blue
DB Preacher bet 5mil on Big Blue
Daakkon in a fit of insanity bet 85mil on Big Blue
the payouts should this eventuate would be:
Seleene gets 90mil
DB gets 45mil
Daakkon gets 765mil
The Big Blue would get 50mil as the winning team
I would get 50mil as the person running the pot.
If you have any questions, post here, if not, start sending the isk to Ombeh

oops, forgot to mention, if you place a bet on a team that doesn't end up competing, you will get a refund.

Paring's added and the pool updated - been some heavy betting on 5 and BoB. Also, some people got refunded due to the teams they bet on not being in the final pairings.

damn ..seems my friend (his char name is SephiriotH) made a mistake and sent my (and also his own) bets on Red Alliance directly to you, not to your alt char. bets were 5kk and 6kk of isk respectively . I do wonder , are they still valid ?

Any chance you could open the betting up again for the final rounds?
Obviously a bit late for this round but maybe after it gets down further? Wouldnt be surprised to see some serious amounts of isk getting bid once we are down to 8 or so teams

Uhm, NO. Betting is closed, your team lost, or you were to late to bet, tough luck. It would, in my opinion, not be fair for the ones that have bet on the winning team from the start, as they would see their turnout decrease drasticly by all the new bets.
Or a new pool should be made, only for the finals (semifinals).

(i don't see UNITY for ushra-khan up there)
does that team get 50% and you get 50%?

i may open up a seperate pool for the last fight - but i will not be allowing any more bets into this pool
If none of the teams bet on wins, i make a lot of isk
I will probably bump up the share that goes to the winner from 5% to 30% tho.

Yes, I was hoping for a new pool to be opened in respect of the later rounds. Ofc it would make no sense to reopen the existing betting pools.

Ok - I made the sheet and got this running, so I may as well finish it off.....
This may be cutting it a bit tight - but if you want to place you're bets on the final round - send you're isk to my alt Arcuied (corp = EDF) with the ticker of the team you are betting in the reason.
Rules are as with OZ's original post. 5% goes to Eve-U, 5% to the winners.
Payout as soon as I manage.
30 mins to go!!
Will update pot every 10 mins.

We've actually been discussing a tournament internally for a while now - more of a capture the flag style thing tho - but if you're thinking of something else, i'm definately interested in doing something - we should chat
