Has anyone else noticed how all of a sudden, CCP are trying to get more people to come back as a pirate?
Case Study 1.
The new rules regarding gates and stations locking up when you shoot.
Case Study 2.
They finally stop the MWD bug that enabled so many people to fly on by.
Case study 3.
*As we have the anchoring process tested and ready, we were thinking of starting to use that with Secure Containers. There is a certain abuse going on with them now, which involves keeping all your cargo in a secure container, thus making one immune to looting. The change would basically be that the secure container is not secure unless it has been anchored. An unanchored secure container would be just as regular containers, i.e. disappear after 2 hours and not be password protected. Anchoring of a secure container would require a skill and allow you to set password and name during the anchoring process.
Making this change now would eliminate this unintended loot protection and polish up the anchoring process (and introduce more skills) thus speeding up the process of introducing more player owned items in space. (From dev Blog)*
Maybe they're all starting to see sense, now if we could just get rid of Pann and sort the GM's out they might actually convice me to remove my account from ebay.

We need fewer pirates, not more.
And leave your account on ebay. Maybe the next owner won't be a griefer/pirate. |

Ummmm.... you aren't the smartest noodle on the block are ya there Rev?
Case Study 1 (I'm sorry just the fact that you refer to them as case studies is a Case Study into your stupidity). It's to keep pirates from jumping a the first sign of resistance.
Case Study 2 (LOL) is to keep pirates from doing the same darn thing.
Case Study 3 This is actually for everyone's benefit, like legit corp wars or when we pod you!
As far as selling your account goes, can't blame you on that one, it must suck to live in the shadow of the REAL pirates in M00 (which you most definitely are not). "No beast so fierce knows but some touch of pity. But I know none and therefore am no beast." |

OMG NOT THIS AGAIN:
Look the gate thing works FOR pirates.
If a HUGE fleet of 30 ships warp in, we just warp out during the 10 sec invulnerable period.
If local spikes to 30 and suddenly one lone indy appears with a HUGE target on the side and called SHOOT ME PLS PLS PLS, we aint gonna shoot that either.
The gate thing does NOTHING except stop people chasing pirates through gates if they are hunting them.
gooooddaaaammm people are soo slow :-( --

Are you serious? In beta, stav was one of the better pvpers out there, he's been making news since before retail came out. Whether you think his tactics are 'cowardly' or not, they've been working for him pretty well so far...

No Stavros, YOU and Rev are SLOW. Ever hear the expression "think outside the box"? Firstly, it doesn't take 30 ships to take you on. Secondly, you are too ignorant to realize that the main grudge is the pirates engaging a player and the pirate warping as soon as the player puts up a good enough fight, which is what this "gate thing" as you so eloquently put it works to solve. Thirdly, I do feel badly for you being in the shadows along with Rev, but it doesn't mean you have to be as dumb as him too. Keep trying and maybe some day you can be as good as the rest of the playes in M00; who by the way use their brains before posting. "No beast so fierce knows but some touch of pity. as in real life, there are predators and prey, if there are too many predators the prey disappear (leave the game) the predators have to feed on themselves and soon there isn't anyone left. the opposite holds also, no predators, no excitement and people leave the game.
as much as i can't stand punk ass pirates, they are needed for the game to be successful and as much as i dislike seeing noobs in 0.0 space trying to mine bistot in their cruisers and frigates they are needed too

From the astroid belt I am looking out from pirates add an enjoyable perspective to the game. They add an element of risk and make flying an indy around just a little bit more exciting. If I wanted a game were I knew I would be safe 24/7 I would play the Simms or something else brain numbing. Corps like moo have elevated the game to a tense and fun experience and I really dont care if new patches give pirates/non pirates an ever so small advantage now and again, I just have to change my playing style which adds further depth to the game. I can understand some players use exploits and yes it does rub everyone up the wrong way and i agree with some threads ccp could do a lot more to address this. But please people lets not confuse these sad little muppets with people who have chosen to be a pirates and play that role fairly. Yes you have read right FAIRLY they pay a monthly subscription they have worked there way up to that level and they have chosen to use there big guns to kill and loot the rest of us. So fair play to pirates who play without using exploits and if I get wasted from time to time so be it its an occupational hazzard and makes me a little wiser for the next time. By the way pirates that last little bit isnt an invite to waste me. Thankyou.

WHY? Because, CCP wants to see "REAL" Escorts. That's Right. Escort's. Its suppose to be a career. But sure the hell isnt atm. Till things get really bad, Ppl will start investing in escorts for them :)

there's nothing wrong with killing shuttles.
Shuttles are used primarily for moving from one base to another to collect ships, carrying BP's, and carrying skills.
If someone tries to jump a blockade* in a shuttle, they deserve everything they get.
*bearing in mind blockades can only happen in 0.0 space now. .
