Im quite new to EVE. I got the skills to be able to fly a Thorax a week ago. Now ive lost atleast 3 Thoraxes in PVPs, and killed none. I want to build up my character skillwise to be able to win atleast some PVP battles. Im currently training Navigation 4 and Afterburners 4 to get my MWD going. What should i go with after that? Im all about blasters so enlighten me :)

You'll want good armor tanking skills, so Hull Upgrades, Repair Systems, and the armor hardning skills will help. You'll need good cap, so Energy Systems Operation, Energy Management, and Controlled Bursts. You want good hybrid skills, so Medium Hybrid, Motion Prediction, Rapid Fire, and Surgical Strike, and eventually Medium Blaster Specialization. Nav skills are a plus for the thorax, you'll want to train up Evasive Maneuvering and High Speed Maneuvering. And of course Gallente Cruiser...the higher the better. ---

Just because you *can* fly a ship doesn't mean you necessarily *must* fly that ship. You are a new pilot. I'd recommend staying in frigates for a while. To pilot the Thorax well, as mentioned above, all those skills should be at least at 4. Many should be at 5. Otherwise, you'll continue to lose the ships in combat, and they're far too powerful for that to happen overmuch.
And for the record, the Thorax is one of the cruisers out there that is worth training Gallente Cruiser to V. The 0-loss when equipping an MWD is worth its weight in training. |
