I think the real problem is too much isk in game.
I don't doubt that macro's and farmers are a big part of it but I also think players sell their own isk. They use their own isk on these very forums to buy up time cards so they don't need to pay subscriptions.
People pay billions for skilled up characters, again on these very forums, they pay 40b+ for t2 bpo's, doesn't it strike you as wrong that anyone has 40b isk in their wallet?
Do you think none of these players, with so much isk they have no idea what to do wit hit, have ever sold it on ebay?

Man it's funny I should see this topic here at this exact moment. I just logged out after having to boot one of my new recruits when I found out he bought ISK online. I'll not bother naming names here but rest assured we have done the right thing through proper channels.
I am starting to think CCP are not doing anything about this though. I have petitioned macro miners left and right and even after I get confirmation they are indeed macroers I still see them weeks later sucking up all the decent ore for systems around, night and day.
As an honest industrialist it make more sense to buy these ultra cheap minerals rather than mine but I honestly miss our big mining ops that we used to do.
On the legal side CCP can only ban somebody for breach of the EULA, they cannot order Ebay not to sell ISK as it is not illegal, just a EULA breach.
Eve is without a doubt my favorite game to date (and yeah, I was there for Space Invaders) and I hate to see it getting done over by these cheating little tools. It has been months since we saw a mass CCP ban of macro miners and ISK buyers. I'd like to think they are just gathering all the data and cross referencing accounts for one massive sting but it's been so long my faith is failing me.

Ha Duck Hunter.... what a pleb leaving his name on the ebay ad. Banstick coming up.
I suggest all look this guy up in a week. I bet he's still in the game, which means ccp don't care about macro's...so why bother reporting them. I've given up killing the ice macro miners...for this week anyhow.
I post details on what I did to stop them... and guess what...ccp lock my thread???? Protecting them is stupid...not banning the macro's that we report is an insult.

If this is a game that is often based on calculation what your enemy might have against you....this buying outside of game make any plans irelevant what so ever...simple as it is. Do i have to feel sorry if you coulnt do a thing by yourself so you were enforced to get that plate out of the game?..pft.
Buying outside the game is pathetic and for week ones...no matter how it might improve "The joy" for them.

I'm more surprised by the ones buying that stuff then the ones offering it tbh.
How much would those bastards cry if you blew up there $300 frieghter......... man im getting a rubbery one just thinking about it

You cant earn 1bill in a month??? do you actually have your comp switched on when i mine (which is rare) with my industrial ***** Large barge, t2 miners and crystals I can rip a jet can of ore in about 14mins (well it used to be i havent actually undocked it for 6 months) each jetcan used to be worth about 20-25m spend a few hours a day and you see the large lump of cash you have.
Obviously I only ever mine when I have 0 isk and no ships left and obviously I mine in 0.0 but still 300-400m a day is not that hard and probably means about 4-5hrs worth of mining ------------------------------------ There's one ***** in the world, one ***** with many faces |

Well, Im not surprised sadly . Ppl like to be cool over night...they would kiss a.s.s.es, give .a.s.s.es ...so giving their money for a chance to be cool and strong is easy option for those....A.S.S.H.O.L.E.S

Edited by: Chippie MS on 29/12/2005 10:03:18 But unlike most games there ships and equip that they buy on ebay can actually be destroyed imagine somone buying a frieghter they jump into a low sec system and wham theres a couple of pirates locking it down and popping its arse....... FUNNY you could drive people to suicide with things like that
I think CCP should monitor the accounts that sell stuff on ebay and not actually ban but flag the items that have been sold and as soon someone undocks in a bought ship WHAM concord spanks there butts
Lets see how long Ebay would last with that sort of punishment ------------------------------------ There's one ***** in the world, one ***** with many faces |

I dont want to spoil all your moments in this post, but CCP has developed a weapon against macrominers and it is available ingame to every1. Sjeesh, everybody got it for free!!!!
SNOWBALLS
Its possible to steal the miners locks without agroing concord and if youre lucky the macroer will even shoot back and get concord on him. It might not work for every macrominer, but it sure did on my testsubjects. |

its not hard to stop people selling eve related items on ebay - in the eula it states that all items ingame are owned by ccp - the name EVE-ONLINE is owned by CCP - so why dont CCP go to EBAY and say well hold on u cant use our game name - and why not point out that letting people sell ISK and items is infact selling stolen goods as all eve stuff is owned by CCP - and if thats not enough even the people who claim to be selling the time they took - EBAY's own rules say your not allowed to HMMMMMMMM the end ? i think not |

LMFAO!!!! that is great. of course the flag would have to be removed if they sold it on which is exactly how they would get around it.

My biggest problem with this now is not necessarily people selling stuff on eBay (although I find it dispicable that eBay are happy to do it) but the ways that people feel it is acceptable to earn ISK now. I spent about 3 hours last night with friends and corp mates chasing macro miners around our local systems. As a result of these lazy wasters and scum the local systems around me are devoid of ore. As an honest miner and manufacturer my income in these sectors is now virtually zero. Basically they are stopping me from playing the game. My main source of income that I use to advance myself in other areas (combat, trading etc) is gone.
The fact that there is a channel now that openly names these people should be getting CCPs attention. Sadly I fear it is not.
Mine as much as you like, earn as much ISK as you like but do it in the spirit of the game. |
