I would like to know is it possible to take on AFs with a rax, i have taken out intys before with it very easy but i have not tested it on a AF, i know that AF are mush better than the intys.
Well i will give you my setup you can tell me hat to change for AF combat
HIGH:
5x neutron blaster 2s [with antimatter]
MED:
1x 7.5 scrambler
1x X5 webber
1x y-t8 overcharged hydrocarbon i microwarpdrive
LOW:
1x 1600mm reinforced crystalline carbonide plates i
1x pdu II
1X dmg mod
1x thermal energized plating and kinitic
drones
10x light drones
Is that good enough to take out a AF
Please let me know

put it this way, if the AF beats you with that setup, quit eve :)

my rax setup now is this:
hight: 5x med ion
med: mwd, web ,scrambler
low: smal armor rep, 3x mag stabs II, 400mm plate
5x medium exp drones
have fun

I might be as crazy as to drop that MWD for an extra webber. A single webber is pretty useless against most frigs, even AFs. Also, you're gonna have alot of trouble holding a frig with a 7.5km scrambler.

I would just orbit you at 12km in my enyo and pop your drones... then start on you...

i know that a pre rmr thorax would *****a AF, but im sure using the right tactics that set up would make short work of a AF

that means you use a mwd and scrambler 20k + small rep this lead to : you dont got the cap to run all the **** before the rax outspeed you, web you and kill you.

Had 2 fights vs AF, won both with following setup:
high:
2x med nos
3x 150mm
med:
mwd/web/20k (what else  )
low:
med repper
kin & thermal active hardener
explo passive (lack of cpu)
800mm plate

if you use 3 low slot for hardner you should consider this if you can use the passive t2 hardner :
2 adaptive and 1 reactive wit hthe new skill it make a really good overall tanking..with no cap use.

1x CPR
2x whatever floats your boat [hardeners/stabs((booo))]
1x Med Rep II
drones
10x light drones - you can easily fit med. drones and should do so..
Try that, the rails are better than blasters if you run up against a long range AF [harpy/enyo spring to mind]
if you have the webber on the AF, along with the scram and the NOS, wave goodbye to the frig..

One thing to always remember: when facing frigate size ships while in a larger ship, always fit a 20km warp scrammer. Frigates don't have enough low slots to fit a stab without completely killing their setup, and extra scrambling range is always nice. If they did fit a WCS, their setup is probably bad enough that you can pop 'em before they can align.

x3 turrets x2 neuts (300cap gone)
mwd, cap booster (400's) or painter, warp disruptor
400mm plate and whatever else you want.
Let the drones do the work, cap booster is purely if theres more than 1 af that needs be neuted. You could even fit small turrets either way his going to lower his transveral trying to escape a 20km disruptor.

Will depend on the particular AF, and the pilot. A highly skilled pilot in a top notch AF setup can take out a mediocre pilot in a battlecruiser.

After reading them all i have decided to change to the following
blasters for the 150mm rails 2
20km scram
and 5 med drones
