I was never going to doubt the chinese mentailty for adaption but if I cant personally do anything about the abuse in Uchat I have no real point for my guild?

I hope you mean macro miners, and not AFK miners? Since AFK-miners are simply people mining into the hauler (So no way of killing them legally).
For info and ideas on how to kill Macroers, just channel "Macrointel." In there you'll get all the help you need.

MACRO MINERS = Free Reign. Torment Them & Kill Legitiment Miners = Dont Touch Them. Their Real Players and Not Computers, which are our enemies

I have to set you straight on some facts.
Macro Miner = scum, kill on sight vermin that should have all their ore stolen.
Legit Miners includes AFK miners. AFK mining means using a hauler or something with a big cargo hold to mine for you for minutes or hours in some cases so you can do something else.
So there is a clear difference between an automated miner/group of miners(macro miners/bots) and those that are AFK(real people). Grief only the macro miners and not the afk ones. It's easy to tell the two apart because usually the afk miners fly haulers and you will occasionally see their ships just sitting at a belt doing nothing(because their cargo is full or their roid popped before they could reset their lasers). |

Yep AFK does not equal macro, and macro miners are not always AFK.
You can normally tell macroers from the fact that there are a bunch of guys mining a belt in barges and indies and surprisingly all these guys were created at almost the same time. Once you find someone you susspect file a petition that includes all of their names the region and system.
Next hope into local and start chatting. Note however that accusing anyone of macromining is against the EULA. Also I give people the benefit of the doubt, I already petitioned them so I know I'm covered there. I hope into local and say something like "Hey guys I see you are only a few months into the game and have gotten over your head with those retrievers, never fear I'm here to help. I'm just gonna park my Armagedon here so we have some protection and I'll get my buddy there to help you haul. Just let me know if you have it covered." BS in place I start to haul. So far 4 out of 5 have simply left system, usually after I've hauled several full loads for them. However the other day I had a guy retort saying he was not a macroer (which I never accused him of being) and that I was a theif I enformed him that I would gladly return all of his ore in station if he met me there. He was shocked to say the least. I did however keep a bit as a hauling tax.
Macroing is bad, but ore theft isnt that good (at least ore theft is covered in the EULA) and thats why I "haul" for them. They have until I log off to retrieve their ore before I refine it and sell the mins.
I think every tactic we use against these guys is valid and usefull. I choose a more civial approach, but TBH I wish I could boot them out of their ships, steal the ore and the ships and that CCP would list the ip adress & the name on the payment account of people convicted on a board of shame. But then again I don't think they will lol

I'm a little confused with the whole engaging macro miners.
The other day, I saw a bunch of barges (usually Apocs) and a few indies... the only thing that I was considering is the fact there was a vexor about that appeared to be their cover for rats. However, on review of the cans and the player names, they seemed like they were indeed macro miners and the vexor might have been the real player watching out for his macros... none the less, I still didn't care as I felt should an engagement take place the Vexor couldn't hang; I'm basing this off the fact he had not been playing long and that my Gunnery skills are rather well for my age.
So... I'm sitting there... in 0.5 space... what do I do? I thought for a moment and recalled a person I info'd a while back that his bio implied he ruthlessly hunted macro-miners. So, I looked him up and convo'd him. I was a bit dismayed, his tactic seemed to modern (apparently a new trick for RMR). Nick from their jet-cans and hope they engage... So, I studied their jet-can placment and place my own in what I felt would be a natural placement for them, and named it according to their style.
After doing that, they all split... one indie actually looked at the can, but I was just sitting there and it was apparent I was waiting for him to nick it; note to self, cloaking skills might have helped.
My question is this, I've seen videos and screenshots of people engaging so-called macro-miners in high-sec, pre-RMR even. The tactic I tried... I wasn't happy with. So, I'm trying to discover more tactics to try. My attempts were a fiasco... and it is possible I mislabeled them as macro-miners... but, for those that are using programs to automate... how do we engage them? Is there a tutorial on tactics to use to hunt, identify and engage macro miners in all high sec systems? I've only seen them in high-sec, I doubt any would operate in low-sec and 0.0 is vast enough only in a most remote area might someone try it there... only suspicion though.
Pre 'Thanks' for anyone to help me out with killing these bastards.

All miners are scum and are kill on sight. They are destroying our lovely asteroids. Leaving them barren for rogue drones to infest and for criminals to hide in.
They pollute the bests with a million secure cans and their worst crime, they whine endlessly on the forums.
Join us, kill all miners.

no one actually uses them because they have to be anchored 5km apart and they only take a few minutes to fill so you have to move around all the time

Thank you for your replies - and yes should elaborate now in the cold light of sobriety, I did mean macro miners.
As to the "why bother" person - there wasn't a belt left unaffected this morning - kind of ****s on everyone else's attempt at playing the game - but then you're probably one of those people who "buys" isk for real-life cash and ruins this great game the other end...

Now look Im totaly with you about the macro miners but there is no cause to accuse someone of being a RL ISK buyer, mabey he just like to pirate and does not like miners.
Just thank him for his comments and spend your effort on those of us who do wish to ebb the macroing.

To deal with macro miniers/haulers.....
1) drop a can near their macro hauler and when it takes it, pop the ship and laugh as the pod continues to scoop cans up...... (this does work)
2) If they have drones out, snowball em........ (sometimes works, don't know why)
