Interestingly it seems Wikileaks, who have been working on the databases leaked by Manning and Snowden, have encrypted a large series of files and seeded them throughout the internet. Piratebay, and other Bittorrent networks ect. WLinsurance files A.B and C, which are 3.32, 46.4 and 325GB respectively. Given all of them are encrypted with AES256, a single 32 character tweet, note in the paper of whatever could decrypt the entire directory.
It appears that this is a response to either Greenwalds partner being detained in Heathrow Airport under anti terror legislation and his equipment confiscated, with no access to a lawyer. It should be noted that this was a Brazilian citizen and was returning form collaborating on a documentary on the subject in Germany.
So, its a catch 22 in some respects, either Wikileaks/The Guardian finish analysing and redacting in their own time or the Authorities get more aggressive and one file is decrypted.. then another... and another. And I don't think we need to go into what the hell takes up 325GB, video most likely or a significantly verifiable database sample of mass communications is most likely.
oh, and the little kerfuffle over the Cables showing the Saudi's wanted the US to take more direct action over Iran over the last batch of Cables....

The Independent says, Cameron ordered the threats ("urge") against Guardian and the following destruction of the harddrives ("serious consequences that could follow")
Can you impeach the PM in UK ? Or are there no legal means to do so ? 0ccupational Hazzard --> check out the true love story-á |

Or are there no legal means to do so ? We elect ministers of Parliament locally, who are then members of a party which selects/votes by its own internal means the leader of the party, who then establishes the cabinet.
Thing is, virtually nobody cares for it, and votes for the party regardless of the representative, and Westminster goes along with this too, I think this is the standard for the Westminster parliamentary system used throughout the commonwealth.
I also read reports that the Guardian was contacted by GCHQ telling them that they had "had their fun and games now" and were citing national security to destroy disks in the Guardians Basement. As I understand, it is illegal in the UK to own encrypted data and not know what the decryption key is.

The insurance has been out for years though. Supposedly if Assange is killed then the people with the keys will release them.
But then if Assange is killed then not releasing the keys is the only thing keeping the rest of them alive. I doubt they would give that up just to avenge Assange. We miss you Saede. In-depth guide on how to safely mine in High Sec |

No, this is a new insurance file, I've got the old ones too but these three new ones are around 360 times larger than the last one.

Then imagine when hell breaks lose and they release the password - and it decrypts to absolutely nothing because it's all a bogus threat from WL side...

It's not like the insurance actually needs to contain anything. If they ever get to the point where they release the key then any person involved in its construction would be dead anyway.
The insurance only has a purpose while it's encrypted. We miss you Saede. In-depth guide on how to safely mine in High Sec |

They have it in 3 parts though, theoretically as they were released encrypted after Miranda was arrested it makes sense for the next step to be to decrypt the smallest file, with a 2 further substantially larger files now plausibly containing even more once its been proved the smallest has new data that can be verified.
