While I hate to sound critical I really think that an established PvP player should commentate . Im sorry to the guys at EVE RAdio but i think it would help all those listening to have an undisputed expert reading the action.

Perhaps you haven't been listening, but there are three well-known pvpers who are commenting after each match.

I think having a commentator whos comments are not clouded by the reputation of alliances is a good thing actually. I love this guy.

i like the guy and he does an ok job but i mean, he doesnt really understand what's going on and what kind of stuff is being done. Like he got all excited when the impoc rammed the raven? that doesnt do anything. same as when he thought the impoc was losing b/c it was down to armor?
Just it's a bit annoying and you really wanna hear about what's being done how the ships appear to be setup and stuff like that but the comentator jsut doesnt seem to have a clue. --------------- RIP - Smoske, My Friend

Think the commentary is nice as it is. Not sure if having someone with in-depth knowledge, to comment the fight as it goes would be actually good thing... i mean, it's fight between teams, someone pointing out possible mistakes or opportunities as it goes, could actually tip the scale or at least distort the competition...
plus, it's funny. Reporters logging under fire = priceless ^,^

Edited by: Ardipithecus Ramidus on 29/12/2005 23:00:05 I know at least some of the participants are very happy that the commentator isn't talking about the setups. Even though the participants on the scene can see what's going on, it largely keeps the armchair quarterbacks at home from giving advice on matters. It means that the three team members have to devise their own tactics-- requiring the player skills that they would use on the battlefield in a small skirmish, even if they might use different tactics in a real battle. The competitors can see what's going on, but they recieve no competitive edge from their alliance members who aren't in the competition.
And I appreciate the excitement and color commentary, even if not every detail is significant in terms of DoT.

The whiners forgetting we had exactly the same notice to set this up and cover it as you guys did, right? You also aware that it's christmas, we're in the process of shifting our hosting services to two new datacenters and have absorbed several hundred pounds worth of excess bandwidth fee's to stream at 128kbps to close to 1000 of you simultaniously?
You aware that without us doing this for you, your only source of info would be alliance chat rumours or our resident forum commentators excellent postings?
How'd you like the next big event to be pay per listen?
You might not realise it but being berated by people who have neither the means, ability or temperament to broadcast for 8+ hours at a time for 2-3 days running does start to wear a bit thin. If you don't like it, clear off the stream or why not go about sorting out your own streaming commentary?
On the plus side, the DJ's and support staff at EvE Radio do appreciate the many positive comments coming from the majority of those tuning in and we will continue to broadcast live from the event until it's conclusion.

Hmm.. so it's illegal to critise Eve Radio? kinda ironic since Eve Radio is so busy critising others... ok some ppl don't like what is going on... tuff.. other ppl do.. good for them. But as it looks.. the only whiner is really you MrBlades. At least the other ppl come with specified critisism. Act like the adult you are supposed to be and work with the critisism instead of *****in over ppl telling what they think of it, and generelly bein arrogant. |

No thanks Lunas I like it where it is. Just ****es me off that an official representative of Eve Radio can't handle this better, than going on a rampage on ppl critising.
