Yesterday I did a level 3 storyline mission that rewarded me a +3 willpower implant that consisted of moving 400m3 of stuff 3 high sec systems. Today I get a lvl 4 storyline that is shipyard theft. While I can barely do the 2nd part of that mission solo I don't believe I will because 1> you don't get any good loot and 2> the mission reward is a ZET100 implant which is worth about 200,000 isk. Now someone tell me mission runners aren't getting screwed.

ok then, maybe you should have refused the first mission if things are so bad?

I don't agree... Some missions make good isk, others don't. If you take a look at the second category they seem to be more pointed towards rpg instead of moneymaking. For many, amongst which more and more myself, that's worth a lot too.
In any case, I only started lv4 last week, lost one Apoc so far but gathered about 300M in rewards, loot, etc. 300M - Apoc = 180M net profit. Seems ok for me.

As it stands, the courier storylines seem to give the +X implants, while combat give pitiful amounts of isk. However, as the primary reward is faction standing and not loot, it's not really too big a deal. (especially compared with other mission problems)

Agreed that it seems a bit odd that there's a rather big difference between courier and kill, but on the other hand that can be explained by the mere fact that with courier missions, you are exposing yourself to danger in a industrial ship made of cardboard... hence the risk in losing ship and cargo is a lot higher, with according rewards.
I don't really agree to this either and think it should be the other way around, after all, haul missions usually result instajump trips which are nearly 100% failsafe if done correctly.

I overread this, excellent remark.

I have standing tyvm. I require LP's and ISK. I did some lvl 4 storyline that rewarded a implant worth 115m that was WAY easier than shipyard theft. If you haven't done shipyard theft you might think I'm over exaggerating. Well my raven with 2 em hardeners another whatever bloodraiders do as 2ndary, and a gist x type xl booster, pith b type amp and a @@$#$$@#$ lowgrade crystal implant set that gives me 1270 boost/4 seconds that lasts a damn long time is hardly anywhere near enough to survive the dps it pumps out. A mission like this should have a reward WORTH trying for. Lvl 3 storylines pay off way better than lvl 4s. And that's just wrong.

I'm a mission runner atm myself, so I will encourage any change to increase the rewards .
OTOH, I'm glad about the variety in payback of missions. Get several excellent, pricey items one day, absolutely jack sh*t the other. If the rewards would be more standard (ie. all lvl3 storylines would give +x implant), it would make it less fun/interesting for me. Also, this would upset the delicate balance of only having macro-miners and owners of the right Tech II BPO's to have a steady stream of revenue.
