Is it Agent or Corp standings that determine the agent level you can access?
Also would anybody know of roughly how many missions it takes to reach the lvl 4 agents?

Both. Level 4 agents require a 5.0 or greater standing to access since the change. You can use them if you have 5.0 or greater modified standing to the agent (which you can get by teaming up with someone already running missions for that agent and splitting the rewards with them), to the agent's corporation (this is the normal process), or to the faction to which the agent's corporation belongs. That's one of the benefits to a very high faction standing; if you get 7.0 or higher to the Caldari State, for example, you can use every single mission agent that belongs to member corporations of the Caldari State without having to get standings with the individual corporations.
There are a few special ones that don't follow these rules, though. Research agents require some corporation standing, and some special agents require you to be referred to them by another agent first. PVP is a question with no single right answer, but a lot of wrong ones. |

Thanks, so I guess what I am looking for is about how long it takes to get that 7 standing with Caldari. 5000 missions done, 300? I am not really finding anywhere that has a break down list of the missions and how much standing they give. |

If you want to gain really fast Caldari standing, and don't mind getting your hands dirty, or a bit of risk then joining FW is a good bet, by plexing in the contested systems you can really rocket that Caldari standing a lot faster than missions.
Gallente and Minmatar space will be closed off for you though as the trade off. |

That's because there isn't one. Mission rewards are dynamic; they fluctuate based on the average time required to complete across the entire player base. Missions that take most players 2-3 hours to finish will have very high rewards and a 6 hour bonus window, while missions that take most players 30 seconds to finish (Materials For War Preparation, for example) give jack ****. Then you toss the storyline missions on top of the pile to figure in.
You see, every storyline mission you complete gives you three standing increases versus the two for the regular missions: you get a very large increase towards the storyline agent, you get a large increase towards the agent's corporation and you get a normal increase towards the faction. If you can manipulate things where you get storyline missions from the same corporation you normally mission for it will drastically speed up your gains in corporation standing.
Pure faction standing is time consuming. To some extent you can throw money at it, buying lots of pirate tags and doing the data center missions, but you can only do those once. If you have the standings, you can do the epic arc missions or the COSMOS missions. There are some special missions you can find that will give you some faction standings (google the Faction Standing Repair Plan, he covers most of these). But it'll take a while. I can't say how precisely how long, because it depends on your skills (both character and personal) as well as how much game time you can/are willing to devote. PVP is a question with no single right answer, but a lot of wrong ones. |

Standings for agent access are Faction, Corp, Agent of the appropriate level. If you have faction 5.0, you'll be able to access all L4 agents of a faction. If you have the corp standing 5, you'll be able to do L4 agents for that corp, as long as your faction standing is above -2.00. If you have agent standing 5.0 for an L4 agent, you can access that agent as long as your faction standing is above -2.00. Jump Frog provides free jump clones and Pod Express travel.

A friend and myself just got done grinding lvl 2s and lvl 3s for about 6 hours total to get up to lvl 4s and that was starting at about 1.0 standing. There is no solid number but I would say set in for a good long session of grinding solo or with a pal...your best bet is to see if someone who is running the lvl 4s for that corp wouldnt mind you tagging along and leeching standing. Although most as far as I have seen refuse to help as they themselves have had to go through that grind.
Some advice...read the mission....find out what needs to be done....then blitz them. IE (kill the tower then report back to your agent) instead of killing all the rats just kill the tower.
