I would like to see Destroyers assigned the roles Attack and Combat like all the other T1 ship hulls. Anyone else agree? |

The destroyers are meant to have high dps, but be vulnerable. A combat role wouldn't make much sense.

Not really
The dragoon is more of a 'combat' dessy and possibly the Algos as well allough it can be pretty DPS'y if it wants to be. You just have to remember the tank on these are more super frig tanks not lite cruiser tanks.

I suppose with the cap warfare bonus the dragoon is kind of a "combat" destroyer like you suggest but I think it is pretty much the exception to rule. Even the Algos is kite fit more often than not(From my experience). |

There are only so many versions of gank and tank for a destroyer hull to fulfill. Any future destroyer hull will have to be outside the norm in purpose. |

Dessy's fullfill a niche.
Basically they are a super heavy frigate. Designed to kill frigs all day long but get owned by cruisers up. Seems they sit perfectly within their niche and there no need to 'expand' upon it as you would just encroach on other ship classes.

They are supposed to bash, snipe and push away frigates. None of which needs to match their speed, that would be silly. |

Destroyers in itself have a very distinctive Role: Frig Killer. Their purpose is defending the heavier ships from smaller threats they can-Št handle themself. This includes: Frigates, Drones and other Destroyers. (Well, at least thats basically the idea I assume) They are not tanky enough for Combat role. |
