Please consider reducing the Corp History to a rolling year. I have switched a lot no doubt but for numerous reasons, mainly my life does not allow me to be on 24/7 or answer every CTA. In addition I am a much older player in RL so it has not been easy to find a corp that is not loaded with children or offensive nature / material. There are many more reason to switch corps and I could sit here and list them all out, however, its irrelevant. Sadly I along with many others are being DISCRIMINATED because of switching corps, a desire to try other things or meet new people. I am certainly not suggesting to remove it because it is important. However I am asking for a change, I am asking for you to put control back into the players hand and reward them for staying somewhere and over time the past is not a negative.
Options to consider:
1. 1 year rolling - everything older than a year drops off (This is the best solution in my opinion)
2. Perhaps make employment history only visible to CEO's
3. Another option Employment History is submitted like a resume to new potential Corp then that CEO / Director can inquire. The player controls who views this record.
4. Station Service - Sell this as a service to reset history much like you have done with Sec Status
5. Set it up like the Neural Remap where it can be cleaned once a yr
Thanks for your time and consideration, VB |

Very predictable responses so far....
RAZOR - Who requires and monitors fleet participation on a daily basis, if you can not do that you are kicked and killed in their space. I can't remember but they use monitoring software to track members. You would think it was a real job! its not, its a game.
TNT - One of the worst alliances in the game for offensive subject matter, foul language and inappropriate behavior. Foul images being shared and extremely offensive player Bio's.
I am not asking for employment history to be removed just changed. As far as the 2 alliances listed, try them for yourself and see how wrong I am. I should not have to sit and be subject to that content nor should I be penalized for leaving.
On a brighter note I have found a great corp in a great alliance that does not conduct in this manner, first one I have found since playing Eve. However, I still think a change is needed. |

Corp history is absolutely fine. If you have changed around a lot, then you must accept the consequences. Try selling it as a bonus rather than a drawback when joining new corps. It shows how much of eve you have experienced and indicates what you can bring to the table.

The thing I see here is that you have changed corp enough times to make players get small red flags. A player decides to check it out, a player might deny you membership because of past membership - or too many past memberships. WHAT CAN CCP CHANGE TO CHANGE HUMAN NATURE?
A player might decide that you're not worth it - that you're a quitter when the going gets tough, or you have actively betrayed past corps/alliances, a wild card, a spy, indecisive, a perfectionist - or any number of reasons beyond these. Why should CCP deny that CEO/dir. the information to make such assesments?
I can't see what CCP can do to change this, and even if they could change things I can't see why they should want to. So convince me: How can CCP change this, and why should they? |

If for any reason I am not satisfied, or do not approve of the content or am offended I should be able to leave without a growing corp history for someone to pass judgement on 3 yrs later. It NEEDS TO BE A ROLLING YEAR or NOT VISIBLE UNLESS I APPLY TO A NEW CORP.

TNT and RAZOR being **** about member participation? bro, i was in KADESHI for the fountain war, and we were by the end of it told (this is a PVP corp, by the end of two months EVERYONE must own a carrier for combat, aswell as have a 98% fleet participation rate, this includes roams, pos bashes, and CTAs), and was repeatedly **** on, even though i was recruited for the US timezone (all the fleet actions were Euro timezone primarily, no FC's on when the US boys were).
but you really cant blame them, where would nullsec be if an alliance coudlnt get maybe 5-10% AT LEASt of their memberbase to fleet up for PvP? they monitor it because they dont want leeches, if you want to rpofit in their space, you gotta earn your keep, and if you, OP, have a problem with that, then you are a leech, stay in an NPC corp in highsec, the kind of "mature" corps you want to be in dont want someone like you. |

So you have an idea, but you cannot back it up with reasoning.
WHY should it only be a rolling year? What difference will it make? You're still going to be judged on your full employment history when you apply to any halfway competent corp, either from in game, third party of just API based sources. At most, it means people like me can't guess at your SP levels, but given that you're complaining about being judged by recruiters, that's not really relevant.
In short, WHY. |

Why do you want CCP to change human nature?
Why should CCP step in to fix a problem that you haven't yet explained is there?
How should CCP go about changing a problem that, so far, exists only by your reaction?
@Nariya Kentaya: I agree, fully, but apparently CCP should have stepped in and protected the applicant by not showing his response to the pie question, CCP penalised the applicant by allowing that info to get through to you ... Or at least, extending the OPs logic to your example here.

I'm sorry that you feel you have been discriminated against, but this is EVE where theft, AWOX'ing and spies are all common place. It takes alot of time and effort to build and maintain a successful corporation and I feel that CEO's and recruiters deserve the right (as paying customers just like you) to protect what they have built. And if you exhibit behaviour similar to that of one of these "shady" player types then I don't think it unreasonable for people to be suspicious of you, your intent and your allegiances.
I completely understand that you have a life outside of EVE and yes you are correct, it is just a game. A game with varying play styles. What you deem as "unrealistic goals" will suit other players just fine and in fact that is probably exactly the play style they are looking for. Otherwise they probably wouldn't have joined that corporation. I hate to say it, but by the sounds of things you did not do your homework before joining that corporation. If you had talked with them for a little while, asked them what was expected of you, their goals, just basically gotten to know them a little before joining then you probably wouldn't have had this problem. But what's done is done and no amount forum posts will change that.
In any case you want this to be changed so that only CEO's (and I assume recruiters) can see your history when you apply to their corp. I do not see how this will alleviate problems with people denying access to corporations based on your corporation history. I would be totally against a one year rolling corporation history. As others have pointed out it's nice to be able to judge if you're fighting a one month old newbie or an eight year old vet. Not only that, I know The Volition Cult run an NRDS policy, which is based off of corporation history. So your changes would more then likely make securing the providence region just that bit more difficult.
So those are my reasons against your idea. I'll admit a little more long-winded then I had first intended, but I got into a serious thing and then I forgot how it ended. ^_^ |

I usually don't e-stalk but I have to ask, did you actually chill in public channels for half any of these corps in your history? You seem to be picky, generally I found you get a small flavor of the corp personality in the public channels before joining. this could have saved you a few couple day stints clogging up your history.
Also like said above you may need to work on your people skills. Lots of peoples find new homes. new homes on the exact opposite side of the fence they were just on. I for example went from a goon pet to IT on the pvp char back in the day. How you make this happen...be personable. Just not diggin this scene, I wanna try yours out. was what recruitment chats broke down to. And it was honest. CAOD and all the side stuff means nothing to me.
And not find crews who take internet spaceships way too seriously. Omfg he was goon associated at one time. Must be a spy. yep....I am spy. Now can I please join the 200 other goons spies in your alliance that you missed as they were clean alts with no goon tagging in the past but have mittens in thier friends list in some IM program please....If you say this, make it sound funny. If a corp goes I like you, you know how it goes...its a good home. Smart crews know its not the obvious histories they need to worry about...it be the "clean" histories.
If they get even more paranoid, them turning you away is a good thing. they are tards who are delusional in thinking there are no spies in the trusted inner circle off the corp or alliance. this will not turn out well down the road I have found. usually witch hunting the noobs. Yep I leaked the op details to get ambushed when I have no f'ing idea where we are going till I right click titan...

Let me put it this way OP.
It will never work because there are websites that already track activity of all players, assuming this would happen they would just save entire corp history on servers since its minimal amount of data, those wanting to check would just run queries on your ass and the checks would amount to the same effect.
It would quite literally have zero effect on any recruiter that uses his head.
That and it would be annoying checking age of characters ingame.
Screw this idea OP you didn't think this through.

Nope, and this comes from a player with some 26 corps in 6 years.
9 were npc corps, 3 were returning to a former corp, 3 were falied corps, 4 were mergers and the others were in the pursuit of fun\changing desires\out growing corps\corps out growing me etc.
If you have a long corp history, you just need to talk to who ever you're applying to.
Failing that, sell your char and buy a new one if it bothers you that much. |
