There are a few things in this world that really rub me the wrong way... firstly there are people who think they know everything and well quite frankly dont. Then there are people who actually do know everything, they know who they are.. or do they? Then there are people who dont stick to a few small codes of what is acceptable and what is not acceptable in real life and/or in a computer game.
Let me start by saying I have seen Divison Polaris's tactics first hand while I was in one of my previous corps. There are many out there that will agree with me... and there are many that will disagree with my opinion.. but thats just it, this post is about my opinion of this buch of... hmmm what word springs to mind... losers? jerks? tossers? hmmm we will come back to that later on but for now read on and see how a 'small' bunch of this corp decided it was a good idea to jump me immediately after an organised 1v1 in low sec space in battleships x3, a hac, a covert op frig and an interceptor.
So there I am, showing some new players around space, showing them who u can attack, who you cant, what you can do in your t1 frigs and what u cant. One of them says he has a Gallente cruiser at a star base out in Derelik. OK i say, ill come over and ask him for a 1v1. So the proposal was made, the location was set, and the two Gallente cruisers turn up. [No smack talk was used :)] Several viewers were in local and it was asked if any of the viewers were going to engage. No came the reply, they are just viewing. Excellent, lets begin I reply. The cruisers engage and im happy to say I came out victorius with the win... not 5 seconds after the warp out comes the sudden you are warp scrambled by.. oh jeez a tempest!! and oh great a Megathron.. no wait two Megathrons.. oh wow a sacrilege a buzzard and a crusader.. hmmm this looks bad.. especially with no shield and half armour... hmmm how cowardly... whats that.. cowardly u ask? well surely thats the definition of a coward.. one who strikes in fear when the odds are extremely in his favour? Now I really dont have to explain what the odds are of surviving a situation like this but... oh whats that you say.. its low sec.. people can attack anyone anywhere anytime and its my fault for being in that situation? well technically yes, but this proves the point that these guys are cowards and have no code or honour to speak off. They immediately attacked me after an organised 1v1 all local people were aware of.
Now, it may sound a but harsh to call these guys cowards. Well, let me assure you, while I was in AOI the engagements were simply a joke. Equal numbers of fleets and DP would simply dock and log. Nice tactics guys.. _b_b The only time these guys would engage during a corp war was when their numbers were in excess of their competition. Or they were in an Assault Frigate and their prey was in a standard first lvl cruiser, aye Meja, nice work btw... needless to say the words that now spring to mind are... say it with me 'spineless' and 'cowardly.'
Now its not simply a mind of, 'get over it man' 'u died, deal with it.' Hell I couldnt care less about the cost of a rax, cost of a pod.. hell as far as im concerned I can afford to lose ships like that every day. Its the principle of the thing. This corp has proven to me, and to many other people im sure that read this.. they really are a cowardly bunch of misfits.. heck i cant call them pirates, that would be an insult to all of the fine pvpr's out there and pirates have more brains. But think about this, would you want anything to do with some guys who break the unwritten law of when to engage people?
I leave you to form your own opinions....
PS. If anyone wants to respond to this post, please keep it mature and truthful. Oh and the whole event was captured on fraps so.. itrs true :)

Tho their actions were on the edge of morality, there is nothing wrong with it. They honored you 1v1 engagement, and only attacked you afterwards. If they had attacked you while in the 1v1, then your statements would be completely correct, but they didn't.

What a bunch of pathetic losers. These kind of people bother the hell out of me. I often wonder why people need to act this in this game. I have been here for a long time and have seen many players who think it is okay to act like dishonorable bullies. What kind og life must they lead? They buy some Uber ships and isk off Ebay and come here just to ruin others peoples experiences.
Im not just talking about these particular deviants, but all those with the same mentality.
I really do not wish them well in the new year. |

Sorry I really couldn't bring myself to read the whole thing. Am I correct in assuming the gist of it was something along the lines of he got ganked in 0.0 and now he's whining about it? Sounds like he should avoid 0.0 for the time being. Where you dueling at a safespot?

I agree with you that attacking you just after you fought in organised 1v1 PvP was a bit cowardly.
However, I dissagree with your opinion regarding corps only engaging when there are overwhelming odds in their favour. Thats just how wars are fought and won. And its Tactics, you can then use fairly unskilled players in your fights and they will be usefull, instead of just the tackler ship.

OK. It was 0.4 not 0.0, not that it makes a huge difference. port22 is not an alt. :) And, wars may be fought like this yes.. doesnt change my opinion now does it... thank you all and have a very good new year... even DP :)

10mins later i had his mates in HACs smacking on local that i wouldn't fight them because i only liked overwhelming odds. nice one, guys

First of all. This game is one of few, that allows people to actually be 'criminals', and to destroy something that others work for. That's what makes EVE great, the risk factor which doesn't exist in other games.
Second of all. NEVER mistake ingame personality for real life personalily. Just because someone prefers to kill people and backstab in a game, doesn't mean that they're pathetic low-life, criminal, scumbags in the real world. Jesus Christ. Please think about it for two seconds, I know several 'Scumbags' in EVE, who are established family men in real life, with respectable jobs etc. EVE just allows them to have fun, if they do so by killing others, so be it.
And to the original poster, I can't speak about their tactics in general, 'cause quite frankly I've never heard of them, but this particular event doesn't seem all that bad at all. So what, you got ganked in low sec. You took the chance of duelling with someone for all to see, and some pirates came along and killed you. Move on.

Surely you should see the plus side to this encounter.
The knowledge you have gained from it, I would say, is far more valuable than the Thorax you lost.

getting ganked is part of the game.
however, impersonating CCP personell is not, petition their name because it has clearly been chosen to be misleading.
I mean, what else can it mean ? It's not funny ... _______________________________________________
