Network instability
As you may have noticed, connections to the EVE cluster have been dropping along with packet loss and high ping. We have traced the problem to an IP level denial of service attack on our network hardware.
Countermeasures have been taken to thwart the attack so things should go back to normal now.
More news will be posted as the situation develops

when did this come out... they thought that originally then they admitted it was the server cauing CTD's and they were working on a fix.. so they have gone back to this?

I for one think it say something positive about CCP that they didn't just start pointing fingers at everything else, instead they first looked to their own code to make sure the problem wasn't there.

I would like to do a denial of service on the one who did DOSed the servers. Denial of medical services after I have beat the crap out of the idiot who did it with a 2 by 4 lump of prime Australian hardwood.

I'm not sure that some of these posters in this thread understood what the message really meant.
This is not a bug in the servers or in the client at all.
This is about someone*---some true psycho freako---who has launched a massive hacking attack at CCP's servers. This could be something as simple and brutally crude like a ping storm (swarming the serves with packets).
Either someone is either a big joker, or someone is REALLY REALLY ****ed at CCP or EVE players, that it isn't enough to quit and whine at the forums, but to deliberate attack the servers.
I hope whoever this person is, and whatever his motives are, I hope his IP be traced, his identity known, warrants of arrest be issued and he should be prosecuted to the full extent of the law.
