So, i decided to have a blundering attempt at belt piracy today. I locked him, got closer with my 10mn mwd and went to work. First, i forgot to turn off the mwd, so i was down to 2 bars. I thought i would be good, but the webby and scrambler somehow drained my cap o_o
Do my skills just suck or is the recharge rate /that/ bad?

Still possible it was cap neutralizers, never tested them to see if you get the red box, but their is no effect, otherwise I have no idea, cap is not that bad, no....
Go try it on a roid or something.......

Big mistake. MWDs are not meant for auto-repeat. No amount of cap can let you sustain it. You fire MWDs in burst, they are not ABs. Most ceptor pilots die to tempest and big guns because they MWD too much to reach target. If you use them in burst, you take dmg first then MWD after that to minimise your damage.
Never ever turn on MWD 24/7, it's the fastest way to die, IMHO.

What were you fighting against with? Saw any red "death-ray"? I know that I can do several MWD burst in my Moa before I am out of cap.

Well, it was against a ferox that was ratting in a belt, i waited a bit till he aggroed the rats then started it, no death beams or anything, just a lack of cap. Kinda sucked too cause it was my first "YARRRRR" in local :/

Were you firing your guns also, or just running the web and scrambler? and was it 20 km range disruptor that you were running?
Hybrid turrets eat a lot of cap, as does the long range scrambler. In addition, the cap recharge isn't linear -- iirc it starts slow, grows to nearly 2.5x better when you're close to 30-40% left and then gets much worse soon after. So if you drained your capacitor too much, it's very possible it reached the point where recharge just wasn't enough to keep your modules running.
Still, if you don't have the engineering skills that help the cap size/recharge rate and the ones that reduce amount used to run modules, to lvl.4 or so... it helps a lot to train them up -.o

Neutralizers have an effect, it looks like they shoot pixie dust at you.
