Ok i was delivering some cargo and i got blown up (still trying to figure out how)..
now both items are lost but i cannot restart the mission and i cannot cancel the mission without not being able to finish the STory line..
Am i just SOL?
did they really make it so you can't do a storyline if you fail 1 mission? (i'm going to say wow if that is the case)..
during my 14 day trial i hope something like this is really just me not understanding how to retake this part of the storyline..

Basically, you fail the mission and lose some standing. EVE is harsh

will i be able to retake that mission and continue the storyline?
when i goto abort the mission there is a clear warning stating i will not be able to continue the story..
losing standing i can live with (afterall i did fail)..
but not being able to finish the story would definately not leave me with much good to say about the game

I've never actually failed a storyline mission, so I don't exactly know what happens. Storyline missions are much more important than regular ones, so I'm always very careful with them.

looks like i'm SOL, went back to the agent and they won't give me the mission again even though my ranking is 1.1..
not sure what to say about that..
i guess i miss out on the story (not sure i like that)

In Halo (single-player campaign), when you die, you go back you your last checkpoint and try again. As many times as it takes.
In EVE, if something goes wrong, you have to live with it.

You'll receive a storyline mission every 15 regular missions or so. The main effect of the storyline missions is a rather big faction bonus which will make new agents available much faster than running regular missions. So even if you failed a storyline mission there will be others.
