Hi. First I want to say I tried a forum search on this and it timed out few times (posting at work), so I'm sorry if there is a thread for this elsewhere. I'd like current info on this anyway.
My corp mates say Lokis are awesome - while they are flying around in thier Proteuses. So what gives there?
Personally I just like the Loki. And I'm going to fly one. It is my ship of choice for pvp. I want to get that out of the way to stop those kind, but somewhat unhelpful posts that say to fly what I want and be happy.
What I am asking for is some good differential and objective opinions on strategic cruisers, and how the Loki compares. I've done alot of reading, and have a decent idea about each t3's role. But I feel like I've missed something.
Any relevant info would help! (Because I'm inexperienced when it comes to pvp )
Thanks. |

Here is the usual...it depends on what you plan on doing with it?
The Loki is an awesome support ship in a t3/armour BS fleet or with Tracking Dreads on the field.
With your bonused webs and pretty hefty armour tank and low sig you can stay on field webbing down any light hostiles and killing them with arty or allowing your larger gunned (BS) fleet mates to blap stuff as its slowed right down.
If your wanting to do small gang PvP unless your flying with good pilots and a couple of decent logistics pilots you might want to steer clear of it so you get to keep your loki and save yourself a few days retraining. But there is no doubt it is a versatile ship in small gang PvP as it allows you to hold down targets while your fleet mates get on top of it to deliver the pain. Can also keep tackle off of your logi pair if you position yourself between the enemy fleet and your logi group.
I've not really solo'd in my loki much so I can't say how effective it is, I believe the tengu used to be the top T3 for "solo" PvP with gang links and the Loki had some success with that in a shield setup too but not so much now. Proteus and Legion I have seen mostly solo camping lowsec gates catching unfortunates.
Overall as a general point the Loki is pretty well balanced for PvP compared to the other T3's. Tank is often lighter than the Proteus' and Legions and the DPS can lack in comparison aswell but there is alot to be said for 35km webs on a ship that just wont die.
edit--
Forgot to mention I fly Loki mostly but also Legion and Proteus, mostly in small gang and fleet work. All of them are fun to fly, you really can't go wrong with T3's provided you can afford them and the loss of them. |

... A thread very similar to yours was made yesterday, and if you just look at the 1st page of warefare & tactics you would see it. If you go to that thread you see several talk points on the pro. So that should help you.
Best PvP Strategic Cruiser.
I know work internet can suck, but...
Also, in the rookie forums these topics appear about once every 2 weeks. So if you want to continue your research just stalk those threads. I know there was a really good one about 3 weeks ago, were people actually responded to the Op rather well as she had laid out T3 as a goal after a year of support skills etc. And was just doing advance research. I can not recall the name of that thread, but i remember her 1st name was Miram. I however do not recall the last name.

I would have read that as you have no experience in the original post, if you have pvped intensively even in cheap ships you would be experienced and not inexperienced. Small ships help you fly big ships better no? Make sure to post your loki lossmail. |

It's also, unfortunately, as irrelevant and incorrect as your avatar is hideous. Seriously. I'll just start eve-mailing you all my killmails from now on, instead of posting them. Would that make you feel special, sweetie?
I wouldn't call a T3 a big ship either... that bit kind of makes me wonder if you even know what this thread is about....

I appreciate the link tho, and I'll just start reading that thread and abandon the trollfest that this one is becoming. |

Wow dude, you're really making people want to help you. You said you were inexperienced, then blasted someone for suggesting you learn to pvp before spending 800m on a sure-loss T3.
Have fun. |

Ah I see you gonna be one of these "sit with 3 mates in T3s, 2 remote sebo cruisers and 2 cloaked falcons on a gate, gank every little !*(&(&! that comes through but run and ecm your *** out if a force of similar strenght comes" guys. Great "warriors". And really not risk averse^^ |
