Would players of EVE that feels that CCP don't do enough to stop macro/isk farmers go to strike ??? you think ?
What if players stopped paying for 1 month agree that one month will be non eve.
Would CCP then notice ? or even try to do more ?. ---------------------------------------------- "When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I felt as a child, I thought as a child: now that I am become a man, I have put away childish things." 1 cor. |

Well true .. and I am not tired of the game in itself, my corpmates can tell that as I know several of them in real life.
But the problem with macrominers is that they ruin the gameplay (and fun) for many people in this game including me... I'm not a pvp even that I do have skills for it, I like to run missions, mine and produce stuff that I actually do enjoy.... Yesterday I even recived a tech 2 bpo from my agent at only 8000 RP ..(only light missiles but still) and that made me happy actually.
Today I logged on while being in Ashab and the belts are filled with macroers/isk farmers, okey so I don't spend time here normally but this is getting out of hand, most of amarr space in general is filled with this. I got really sad on behalf of this game, I like this but get sad because it seems that CCP don't do anything about it. ---------------------------------------------- "When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I felt as a child, I thought as a child: now that I am become a man, I have put away childish things." 1 cor. |

What you need to realize is that a minority of the game's player-base ever read these forums. And it's a very vocal minority of that group we see whining every day here. I for one wouldn't mind if they didn't pay for a month. It'll make reading these forums a little less frustrating.

One way to fix macrominers from ruining the game for empire builders and carebears (that includes me, btw) would be to have fixed prices on minerals. 1 isk for trit, 3 for pyrite and so forth. Leave Nocx, Zyd and Mega to player competition as you can't mine those in empire (actually read somewhere that its possible to get zyd from some roides in empire, but not sure). This will ocfourse completely ruin the market economy as we know it and won't rid us of the macrominers, but it will prevent them from dumping prices and ruining the game for empire builders. Only thing we need is to increase roid respawn to keep up with the macro miners roid killing .
Absolutely not a perfect solution, but perhaps worth considering? Personally I would hate market to be fixed.

Edited by: Kerushi on 04/01/2006 15:52:31 the problem with macro miners is that they get to much attention and so the problem is escelated into larger porpotions then it actually is
haven`t encounterd a single macro mining group since release but get more fedup reading 1000000000 f`ing forum posts about them then the actuall problem
ccp is understaffed as they said, u can`t ban 10-20 accounts cause some 1 says "macro miner", takes observation and time, blow them up if u can but stop spamming the forums with this crap
edit:
this is the most stupidly, dumbest thing i`ve hear in ages, congrats ________________

And during this month, isk farmers can enjoy lag free space? TBH, it wont be much of a strike, CCP still get your subscription money.

kerushi, some systems/regions are overrun with them. my corps home system and neighbouing systems have gone from 4-5 people in lcoal, to maybe 18, with over 4/5ths the population normally being macroers. now, i dont think that constitutes inflating the problem ;)

Currently I pay each month (moved from 6 months subscriptions a while back to one month), so no .. if I go to strike I would stop my payment for a month.
it would be more effective if more did so than just one ofcourse, that is why I write it here even that I do realise that only the vocal and a minority of the eve players are reading these forums.

Check ashab, most newbie places, well in general check out Amarr space and you find macro/isk farmers in almost all systems that are there, today when I logged on I found 11 only in Ashab alone.
My list I made of who, when started, what flying and known people they fly with .. I currently is close to 70 names.... only a minor problem ofcourse in someones eyes.
Oh and all petitioned.. none are banned. ---------------------------------------------- "When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I felt as a child, I thought as a child: now that I am become a man, I have put away childish things." 1 cor. |

have just said this in another (similar) thread you been posting. but think of way that police work... they do not 'bust' every infraction that is reported to them when they know that these aren't all individuals running mini-operations, but likely 1-2 large rings. it is better for them to collect all the petitions... put them together by billing information/detective work whatever, and ban them all at once.
they have done this before - and this is the way they work. banning each 'little' group of ships that was reported to them would not help the problem at all really. __ Assault Ship need 4th Bonus and More!
