Extremely heavy, high-geared, not enough room to fit a sufficient powertrain OR durable enough drivetrain to move a hevicle that heav... gotta be the slowest thing to hit the streets sice the 1973 Honda Civic (YAY 4-cylinder Carburetion!). 19.3-sec 0-60, and 23.6-sec 1/4-mile.
But imagine the awesome wet-weather traction!

If I may be allowed to quote from an article I read once in Penthouse, reviewing a car (I'm not going to pretend I only bought the magazine for the articles, but I did actually read them from time to time )
"....Looking rather like a cross between the ugliest car in the world and an even uglier one..." ________________________________________________

Erm... electric cars aren't themselves bye bye fossil fuels... where does the electricity come from in the first place? A large proportion from... fossil fuel power stations!
Anyway if I was buying a quick car... I'd want the noise to go with it So hello nice Mr petrol engine for me still

erm... Fossil fuels will be no more in 30 years, so might as well switch now. After that our sources dry up, and we will be stuck with nuclear power and possible alternatives (wind, water,...)
Electric cars FTW! Or even better: cars on air!

Fair enough, all I was meaning that at the moment, electric cars as such aren't the way forward, seeing as the power has to be got from somewhere, usually fossil fuels in the first place. ie at the moment it isn't quite electric cars ftw!
Yes there are limited fossil fuel reserves, but with fossil fuels still being used to make electricity, it doesn't make as much as a difference as could be first thought.
I would imagine fuels like bio-ethanol may come to be used as a fuel in time, prolonging the use of the internal combustion engine. And would also have the benefit of still sounding nice
As for electricity of the future, I see no way out other than an increase in nuclear power, and to be honest that doesn't bother me.
Oh and...

Theres no point in electric cars, at least not at the moment. You still have to recharge the damn thing and guess where the electricity comes from...
So just give me one of those dirty old Aston's and I'll be perfectly happy.

This has all of it, saves the kittens, doesnt use fossil fuels, sleek, never has start up problems, dont need your tires rotated, not sure about the warranty. These babies can go pretty fast if u give them a swift kick in the a$s. I dont know why i didnt start riding one earlier.

Anyways... I think that we can stop using fossil fuels to generate electricity if we wanted to. There's plenty of alternatives, that's all. |
