the megathron doesnt seem that much better to me compared to the difference in price
i never really heard of these alleged BS changes - its all speculation
at current config - the mega is ****e?

well apprently the specs are not yet configured correctly.. So I guess and I hope that they will change or I just wasted 60 mil getting a Mega over a Dom.....

eeh personally I like the mega better then the dom. Might not justify the 40mil more that I spent on it at the time but its a good ****, besides it looks cooler too :)

The mega has looks - the domi has the effciency.
Domi can mount more damage mods -> deal more damage/time and can mount more shield hardeners -> can usffer more damage than the mega.
So, yes; it's better. ATM. Hope TomB will fix it soon.

All lvl 2 Battle ships need to get a nice boost. Like 1 more med and low slot each would do it i think.
Also about the Dom, it has 5k drone bay =P thats enough for 20 heavy drones

Remember back when frigates were still very popular and used, and cruisers were the status-symbol, and were very unbalanced?
Remember when they were finally balanced out? Well that was able to be done when scores of people started flying them, and CCP could see some real statistics.
The same thing will happen with battleships. There's just some things that beta testing just cannot tell them.
Nothing beats seeing actual numbers in the form of graphs and charts.

It's a bit weird when there are more people flying around in battleships then in frigates.
It should be balanced so frigates have tactical value again and bigger isn't always better.

Personally I think ships are too cheap. Its way to easy to get money for pretty much anything in the game. I solod my way to battleship money in about 2 months. I see way too many people in battleships now. Everyone is flying around space like they are Darth vader when reall a battleship should be the hardest thing to get and should be a long term goal. Im sure I could have gotten a battleship much earlier if i had help. |

Yes pretty much all lvl 1 ships are equal or better than lvl 2s, especially when it comes to price/performance ratio.
An exeption is Apocalypse I think. (that extra medium slot really helps)
I think lvl 2 battleships need a bit more cpu, and missiles need to be improved. This should help.

The megathron needs something. Just compare it to the apocalypse, then tell me why the megathron is better or as good.
IMHO it isn't.
1000 extra m3's of drone bay, a few HPs.. 4000 less powergrid, 1 turret less, etc.

Personally i think that not just the mega but all lvl 2 battle ships need to be upped a great deal. The Megathron probably needs some extra atention though. Right now it is one of the worst lvl 2 battle ships, and its lvl 1 counter part, the dom, is far better.
I agree that ccp really needs to stepp it up, all of us who were beta testers dont want to be doing it any more. CCP step it up and fix the problems.
Making it so frigates are more viable is also a an excelent idea. Posibly even the adition of manned fighters.

ya personally i am trained in heavy drones and could care less about drone space. I dont use any drones at all when fighting rats because its too much of a hassle to launch them, then have them attack or be attacked and then scoop back to drone bay. Way to much work for me
I would rather have an extra low slot or something. |
