I was excited to see the new logistic drones and trained up to use the shield maintenance drone only to find out that it only seems to be good at orbiting and staying out of trouble. I picked a fight with some pirates and while they were tearing down my shield, I swear I heard my shield maintenance drone laughing at me while it made pretty cirles around my bleeding ship. Are these broken or is there some kind of ON switch that I missed?

You can only use them on locked targets. If you can find a way to lock onto yourself, let me know.

That's stupid! The best reason to train in shield or armor maintenance drones is to support your own ship. If you cant use these drones on your own ship, the descriptions of these drones and skills should say something like "Repairs everything except YOUR stuff, SUCCA!".

lol... /agree... I trained up to use the large shield and armor repair guys only to find they wont touch me...
but still seem nice... could run a few Mega's each with its crew of 5 Large drones 75 each with the skill train up 4 mega could send 15 on a single person excluding the 5 the repair-ie has thats a nice 1125 shield/5 secs......... still seems worthwhile to me...

and the description you are after is that fact it a logistically drone and locistics is to support others ty

I mine with 3 large barges, currently mining lower ends.
I use armour repair drones on the tanker allowing us to mine in peace, also means we can use mining drones on 2 of the ships and 3rd sometimes can use afew depending on the spawn :)
Ive not tested tanking cruiser spawns yet or .3 or lower space yet. They repair alot and the gfx if just cool (green webs floating around the ship and in a funnel to the target ship).
They are only usable on the target ship, as u cant lock urself tehy are a support drone for others.
Id suggest using these drones on any small op if required, they are great fun and tbh the utility for medium ones is fantastic :)

Anyone else notice that Logistics Cruisers don't have drone bays?
I mean, why not give them some, then they have a minor defence and can boost their support capabilities even more. Hell, they might even find a use then.

OMG I never noticed that the Logistics ships don't have drone bays! Especially now with the Logistics drones they should be able to use them.

Know what would have been great, some INFO in their description so we knew this before training up on them.
