How is it that my 80$ computer chair is more comfertable than the seats on airplanes.
I just got off a 6 hour flight and now my lower back feels like everything has been pulled and pushed out of place.
discuss how crummy airline seat and stuff is. esp there seats. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

so far every flight has had a screaming runt infront of me. parents should be aloud to beat there children 30k feet in the air. atleast then they would have a reason to cry. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Because the airline seat probably only cost $20, if that. **************** Pain is a way of knowing yourself; Death is the ultimate in self-discovery.

I'll never forget getting on an Air India flight, and noticing twisted metal protrouding from the seat in front.

I remember being on a plane and it being delayed for "technical reasons" ... looked out the window and they were repairing the engine while we were on board . Didn't inspire much confidence I can tell you. Airplanes are horrible, I dont like them

Easy. One US airline, a few years ago, decided to sell quality instead of cheap cattle-herding; they installed decent seats, took out a few rows to give everyone a comfortable amoung of legroom, etc.
Of course, to make money while carrying less passengers, they have to charge more per customer - but since everybody and his dog complains about how terrible airline transport is, they'll pay the extra dollars to make it less terrible, right? WRONG. That airline almost went bust because nobody was prepared to pay an extra fifty bucks to fly in comfort.
You want better quality chairs, pay for them. You want cheap flight, stop griping about how poor quality it is. ________________________________________________

I would pay solid good cash for a airline that deliberatly flew through turbulance. I love sitting by the wing and watching it flex aback and forth about 6 feet. Its like a huge airborn rollercoaster with thrill potential beyond thee stars. For some reason they think people want a "smooth" pansey ass trip. I wish I could get on a carrier that makes the trip fun.

try 8 hours in a hercules transport to cyprus mate. THEN you know what pain is.
It was so cold, the packed lunch I put under the laughable excuse for a seat was frozen solid an hour into the flight. the toilet had a handle in it that you had to hold onto before flushing.

sounds like a hell of a good time. Other than the cold part. Being cold sucks- I grew up in the desert so I don't like that type thing.

Singapore Airlines is great. Nice looking cabin crew to.
Most American airlines have crap service but excellent leg room (in economy)compared to the Euro carriers. Another gripe is the $5 they charge for a drink when its free on most non US airlines.
BTW Einheriar, do you live in Indonesia?

I was on an Iberian Airlines flight to Lanzarote when just as we were nearing the Canary Islands the captain came over the intercom "err..we no go lanzarote, the plane is a broke". Mass panic erupts. We had to land on the longer Gran Canaria runway because the reverse thrust wasnt working, but was still a very dodgy landing. Vowed never to fly Iberian ever again soon after getting off.

Aye my first move to the UK from the New York... Air India only $200 round trip, smelled like rotten baked potatoes and instead of peanuts they give you little packets of dried moth... I kid you not -------------

You say that as if you're surprised? You can't really be stupid enough to not realise the link between paying more and getting more comfort, can you? ________________________________________________

Airlines went wrong when they stopped modelling their interiors on boats or even trains, and switched to emulating the bus. The bus is the lowest form of transport known to man.

I work for an airline and can sympathize with all of you. But, then again, I can't. LOL
Yes, I love the sickly, sweet smell that barf leaves in the cabin interior. I truly enjoy having my back get kicked by a bored child. I can enjoy having to try to fit into a seat that was made for anorexics.
There is only one airline that really shines when it comes to comfort and that is Midwest Airlines. They have only business class seats in their airplanes. Plus they serve hot chocolate chip cookies on their flights. (I'm biased, I used to work for them. Until I got laid off... ).
Yes, I can tell you horror stories that will make you shudder, but then again, it isthe safest form of transportation in the world.
