Are Wasp drones bugged?
If so is using them considered an exploit?
If so is using wasp drones in PVE or PVP a bannable offense?

bugged (typo error), I don't think we've had any word on whether or not using them is bannable.

I'd like to know as well.
And what about small ecm drones, are using them considered as an exploit?

The thing that is wrong with them is that their tracking speed is 35.75 rad/sec while the other heavy drones have tracking speeds of .3 rad/sec (Ogre I), 4.2 rad/sec (Praetor I), and 4.5 rad/sec (Berserker I). Its tracking is roughly 100 times that of the other heavy drones.

I remember seeing a thread a while ago where it was mentioned that a dev or GM (don't remember ATM) had said that using the small ECM drones was an exploit But I could be wrong

Look at their tracking, it's 100 times bigger than it should. At my knowledge, we didn't have any official word about it, but as there had been an official statement about the bugged heatsink (same kind of typo), I'd say that it should be considered as an exploit. And at least if not passible of ban, you should be able to petition if you loose your ship to Wasps, due to that typo. Wonder why there still has not been a hotfix for it on TQ, while it's fixed on SiSi.

the heatsink doubled your damage (1.9 modifier as opposed to 1.09) - this isn't as sevear as it only improves your chance to hit against fast targets.

Well, a corpie tested them on me yesterday, and they seemed seriously overpowered. If they're supposed to work that way I'll use them instead of my warriors, as nothing will kill me 1v1, unless it jams me first.

refer to a sticky on the first page of this forum part. Wasp drones have been classified as both bugged and as an exploit when used (bannable offense). if you can't beat 'em......shoot 'em :P |

mmmm....it says they're an exploit, but it refers to an 'official warning'. No banning is mentioned. Maybe if you're stupid and keep doing it after they warn, but I doubt it.

wasp drones and their use in combat
reported by GM Xhagen | 2006.01.05 20:37:29 | NEW
It has been known for some days that Wasp drones (both tech I and tech II variants) have abnormal tracking capabilities. Hence it is now considered an exploit to use them in combat and all players caught using them in combat from now on, will receive an official warning. Any losses caused by Wasp drones (before and after this announcement) can be petitioned through the Ask a Question section under the Reimbursement category.
This issue will be fixed in the next client patch so please do not use those drones until after that patch.
