My first post on the forums after lurking for a couple of years.
I have every transaction across all my industry characters in a database so I can pull some interesting data out if people are interested? The data set goes back about 13 months.
Current Profit per hour (Caldari fuel and materials taken into account):
Tungsten Carbide $141,881.00
Titanium Carbide $123,531.00
Fernite Carbide $381.00
Crystalline Carbonide $370,420.00
Sylramic Fibers $269,070.00
Fullerides $372,040.00
Phenolic Composites $829,852.00
Nanotransisters $262,673.00
Hypersynaptic Fibers $2,298,486.50
Ferrogel $13,870.00
Fermionic Condensates $4,925,477.00
Nonlinear Metamaterials $612,600.00
Photonic Metamaterials $426,194.00
Plasmonic Metamaterials $440,095.00
Terahertz Metamaterials $58,779.00
The following is some real world data over several months:

Output Sell Plasmonic Metamaterials $4,204,175,073.08 Terahertz Metamaterials $5,310,379,455.21 Photonic Metamaterials $5,648,258,567.17 Nonlinear Metamaterials $5,280,444,871.55 Fullerides $3,275,592,178.92 Phenolic Composites $5,318,567,983.77 Ferrogel $14,377,643,667.87 Nanotransistors $25,896,662,517.23 Total $69,311,724,314.80 Profit $5,658,355,813.37 Margin 8.2%
I still have around $5bn in sell orders for various materials so the actual margin will be somewhere around 14%.
Complex reactions are all messed up at the moment. It's fluctuated wildly since just before Odyssey. I've only recently stopped doing reactions after quite some time because of the unpredictable (to me anyway) swings in the market.
If you're interested in dabbling in reactions, consider the following: - You need to be prepared to have many billions of isk worth of materials reacting all the time - You need to be able to hold said billions for the peaks and troughs in the market - Market fluctuations occur frequently which requires careful planning around acquiring reactants - Re-tooling multiple POSes to ride the most profitable reactions is tiresome - Logistics is also quite involved. A Jump Freighter is an absolute must
If the market stabilizes again, I may consider getting back into reactions. My other ventures have proved more fruitful and reliable though.
